Steam says in 2 hours from now ... 7pm GMT?

I deleted the Client Beta earlier on... now this from Yoshiro:

@TripwireYoshiro Tripwire Interactive
We have plans for the beta client post launch. What you do with it is up to you at that point.
What does this mean then?

About the beta, maybe they will keep it for continued testing? Great way to try out patches and stuff? anyhow speculation is always fun...

Probably following Valves example with CSS and TF2 where they test fixes on the Beta client and then when people are happy, they release a patch for the game.

From John on Server Admin list:

The countdown timers on Steam are always an estimate that Valve just puts up there. The game goes live when we're ready, and we'll let people know when the server files are up.

Blooming heck it's coming in slow! it's saying 2 hours! in 4 hours it will be tomorrow! It's not exactly dial up speed but you know what I mean I'm used to seeing downloads measured in MB/sec not KB/sec!

I have been downloading pretty much most of the day at an average of 220kb/Sec and it is only at 39% :(

Plus I will need to download again by the looks of it :(

From what I have read it's a 2.6Gb patch, things like this make a mockery of pre-loading the game... I mean I know it's good that Tripwire support their stuff but it's taking the piss a little. This isn't a day one patch more like last hour...

Probably be next week before I get a chance to play. At 50% just now and need to download the day one patch as well which is something like 8GB :(

It's telling me that it's finished the pre-load again so I guess the patch is in. However I can still not play the game. There is only an hour and a half of the 13th left, this is an odd game release...

It is indeed an odd release - I have ordered the game from Amazon Uk on disc, and it isn't released until Friday the 16th. What is that all about? Is it only released on the 13th if you get the digital version? I loath digital versions. I insist on having a hard copy, although with Steam exclusive games, it doesn't matter that much I suppose as you don't get a full working game anyway, as the executables aren't on the disc.

BTW - I paid £19 for my copy from Amazon. Money wasn't the deciding factor, but for a game with as much hype around it as this, that is a fair price to pay for a game. I just hope it lives up to all that I've been reading about it.

Ive stopped pre-loading to be honest. Going to download it at work, back it up onto CD and install it. Going to be a lot quicker and not hog my PC at home.
