I have read that x-box 360 server sizes will be limited to 12 players 6vs6, but what are the PC server sizes going to be ? Does anyone know ? The reason I ask is because, if they limit server sizes to 12 then this game is doomed from the start and maybe its not all I am hoping it will be.

I understand that they are having issues with mouse lag among other things in multi-player just as they did in Pacific Assault, I hope to god they don't screw this up like they did PA !

Dedicated server running, they where playing 16 players (8v8). For more info you should head on over to PMOH, they have the latest info.

From PMOH -

Several stock options have been added for administrators, a custom interface is available for launching the server, and the ability to remotely connect is also there. The dedicated server we were playing on also held 16 people, which is four more than the previous 12. The team is still working and testing to get that number up even higher. Server administrators will also be happy to know that Linux binaries should be available close to launch, if not at launch.

It's disappointing that BH isn't giving the FPSAdmin community the feedback and support that it deserves.

Regardless of who said what, after all FPSAdmin has to be the most informative site for FPS Game Admins & Gamers first hand.

FPSAdmin has been supporting the gaming community at large for years and RudeDog has been bringing first release first hand NEWS to the masses the very moment it's available as he finds it to everyones benefit!

That sure is dedication on his part and the enormous amount of personal hours given freely to help others is outstanding.

I for one congratulate RudeDog for doing so.

All the best RudeDog. :salute:

I must have missed something because I am a bit puzzled but I think I am starting to get the picture. I am gathering you (Rudedog) were a bit critical of MoH:AB and instead of replying to your observations, BH simply stopped giving you info, which in turn prevents you giving us info ?

If thats the case BH you should be ashamed of yourself, for almost a year now this fourm gave you valuable info to bring back to MoH:AB and now because your product has glitches and problems and is being given deserved criticism you stop giving info ? Thats really sad !!!

My team of 40 members depends on me to decide what games we play and compete at, so I have the responsibility to make sure it is not money wasted. I applaud you Rudedog for what your site FPSAdmin give's us in this fourm and I appeal to you to not stop giving us the TRUTH wether the developers like it or not. I have waited a long time for the MoH series to come back to what it once was long ago with MoH:AA, and my team still plays it because it was fun and because it took some skill to play. I however won't give my team the go ahead as I did with Pacific Assault because it sadly was not fit to be sold to begin with, and when sold it couldn't even be played. That was a total JOKE!

BH if you bother to read this "shame on you", whats a matter you can't take a bit of constructive criticism when deserved ? The company you are fronting screwed us gamers a few times and without the support of sites like this one people would not know the TRUTH !

Keep up the great work FPSAdmin and you too Rudedog, myself and my team applaud you for what you take the time to do here daily !

Thank YOU

Devils

What on earth is going on?

Surely BH is big enough to accept that the game was reported on "as seen"

So much for keeping the Community informed or is it just those parts of the community that don't rock the boat?

Well done Jim for telling it as you saw.

It opened many peoples eyes to just what EA had failed to include which was pretty much a whole years worth of community feedback.

I'm with you boys 100% on this!

Come on BH, keep us admins informed first and foremost here!!! Please! Don't make us resort to have to fish the internet for bits and pieces of information.

Sorry to hear that BH is turning out to be the petulant childish bastard I thought he was. Screw EA and screw this game, sorry Rude, you were a voice of reason with these arrogant clowns and they dissed you for it. That's the kind of reaction you would expect from a 4 year old.

And that is REALLY sad to hear, BH comes to this fourm over a year ago and posts that he wants feedback and that the developers want feedback as to how Admins, players want the game to be. I thought wow, awesome a developer wanting to make a game the way gamers want it to be with their own twists added in, only to find out most of which was asked for is not even in the game. ( I now feel like my posts were well useless as well as everyone elses !) Now to find out that because it was criticized (rightly so I might add) and now this useful fourm is cut-off from information which comes directly from BH.....really disappointing

That may bit a bit harsh, Necrodoggy, I have a feeling BH's hands are tied or I would hope so.

I disagree there Rude, I believe Necro was speaking exactly what we all are thinking including myself and its painful to say but I believe its the truth.

Nobody likes to be dupped and damn if they didn't dupe us all again. There was a time when SP was the main focus of PC gamers but as with anything priorities change and SP is put on the backburner by us and MP is the current focus of PC gamers and why we buy the games. I can't believe developers haven't realized this yet especially with the top games being MP and NOT SP!

After reading what I have here and at other sites I have decided to cancel my pre-order of this game as well as posted privately in our fourms that all members are requested to cancel their pre-order as well, the reason being we will probabally not be playing this title based on my current knowledge of the MP game. I appalauded BH and EA when they asked for the communities help in creating the BEST game out there, and now I feel like I have egg on my face since doing so.

If the MP mode is not up to par with what is currently out there this game is doomed from the start and will not see the light of day in the gamespy "what are gamers playing" rankings. I have always been a fan of the MoH franchise, and up until this point had just about forgiven them for the PA disaster which my team and myself wasted money on. But I can't in my right mind suggest to any team member to purchase this game until after I have seen it and played it myself which will be hard to do since I cancelled my copy of it. The only way that will change is if they release a demo of the mp mode, which I doubt we will see since it seems like it is plagued with lots of missing things which in my opinion are necessities to run as well as play this title.

I can kinda see where he is coming from MOHAA great seriers even great expansion packs with Spearhead (my game of choice) then PA comes out total bomb, at least I thought with EA this go around they were going to go all out.

Blackhat having a forum on your site gave me hopes on a great game coming out but with all the reviews with lack of server support, lack of maps, lack of players in the server etc.... and.... lack of Ftp for autodownloads (come on now the mohaa community was working on this with a new version of forsight) ~~~~ hint hint EA listen to the people that support the seriers and spend their money on it.

Makes me wait a few days before I buy it and see what the general public has to say about the game first. If there is a limit to server size dont think so and the way I see it the lack of maps and game play type I can see the game dying out very fast and a new game loaded on my PC................

sorry to say but CoD4 is looking better for my clan at the moment.

not even one map on MP for the demo...............................:(

It may well be harsh and even in some ways unwarranted but the simple truth of it is that I have a great deal of respect for you, Rude, because of the work you have done over the past several years. You've worked very hard to put out good support information for admins and have a done a lot of good work for the community.

I think that the utter lack of PC MP support that was evident at the MP summit was a very clear sign that none of the suggestions from this forum or any other forum was seriously looked at. I blame Blackhat directly for not getting that information across in a meaningful way. There's no way that his hands could have been so "tied" that nothing of what was put forth to the designers got through. That just smacks of incompetence.

My problem is not that there were bugs or that things weren't as polished as they could be, that's what a Beta test like the MP summit is supposed to be about. But to come in with an MP test that is in no way suitable for PC MP tells me that they either didn't listen to a word that BH told them or that BH failed miserably in getting our message across. I'm sorry but I have to believe that the designers at EA can't possibly be that stupid so the logical answer is that BH didn't get our message across.

I work in industry and manage multi-million dollar plant projects (yes, I have a real life outside of gaming). If I had failed as miserably as BH has in getting my customers needs addressed in my plant designs, I would be fired before I could say "oops, my bad".

I've said if before and I will say it again, Rude, you're good for the community I commend you on your efforts.

Thanks again, Necrodoggy and believe me I understand.

I guess we can wait for the SP demo to see how the game plays, and then the full product when shipped in a little more then a month.

I have told this to others but will re-iterate it here.

Airborne is living proof that there is still this mysterious disconnect between what PC gamers (especially server admins) are looking for in a game and what EA (and other developers) THINKS the PC gamers are looking for in a game.

The MP Summit looked like a bad thing from a public perspective, but it was the absolute BEST thing EA could have done. That small (but quite fun!) event probably removed an entire patch development cycle and you can only imagine the public's absolute fury if EA had released the game like we saw it at the event.

Personally, I could care less if they had made the MP Summit a 'media event' at all. They could have called it a closed, private beta that we could never speak publicly about, and I still would have been more than happy to go and provide the exact same feedback. I wasn't there to write an article... I was there to help the GAME.

I can also somewhat understand the aingst behind Rude's MP Summit information report. THE leader of THE dedicated server admin support and discussion site goes to a MP Summit only to find out that the only information that was planned on being discussed valid to his specific audience (PC Server Admins) was that a dedicated server was in the works and would be released at some future time AFTER the game was shipped. And that no features or abilities or anything about it could be confidently reported because nothing was truly set in stone.

I think that might have raised the hairs on my back a little too, and I hope EA and BlackHat can understand it when seen from that perspective.

Thanks Bullet,

However EA feels that I stabbed them in the back with my review, some of the other summit members think I should even apologizes for my comments and actions.

I gave EA and Blackhat great praise for what they did when Airborne was first announced. I trumpeted Blackhat for what he did when he first started and they deserved it.

I was then invited out to see the SP side of the game and could not go because of work (MajorWoody took over for me on those events). I even tried to stop by EA and see Blackhat while I was out in LA on business right before the MP summit, however at the last minute Blackhat could not spear any time, which was understandable.

At the MP summit, when I got to see what was shown, I was very disappointed as a customer and as someone who gave a lot to the franchise. Everyone keeps saying I took in personally, maybe. However I think I took it as someone who learned by their mistakes and could only report on what was shown. - I did mention everything what was told to us as promises.

From what I'm told, because of my actions, Blackhat will not take the time to frequent my site and answer our questions, sorry guys that was my fault and I apologizes to you MY MEMBERS and no one else.

For the other summit members, reread my review. I think I was very fair with the overall game. I stand by my review based on what we focus on here at FPSadmin...server sided stuff what did EA expect?

Sorry guys for taking this waaaay off topic.
