loading a new server.cfg and losing some of the vehicles

We run a base assault config (called server.cfg) on one of our servers, however, if we load our practice.cfg file, using /rcon exec practice.cfg, it loads base again, but it's missing half of the tanks. Now the only difference between the server.cfg and the practice.cfg files is the practice.cfg has a join password.

Any ideas?

I'm surprised it works with "server.cfg" at all. There's a server.cfg in one of the pk3 files which it probably getting execed along with your own server.cfg file.

In my testing some of my settings took effect, some didn't (like the rcon pass, map rotation). I changed the file name to custom.cfg and now it works fine. I've got configs for all the ladders we're in and i'm able to exec them fine without losing any vehicles.

you know, i never tried the TWL config. i've just test the very different configs i use... practice.cfg, bas.cfg, ctf.cfg. the bas.cfg and ctf.cfg, i think, are in a pk3 file as well. i'll try renaming the files to something completly different and seeing if that makes a difference.

thx.

I ran into this problem as well, and changing the name of my config and/or removing the server.cfg file from the uo directory on the server fixed my problems.
