I have to head out but will be cleaning up this post, by following it up with more of an editorial of my personal feelings and what I expect this mean to our community. I still have to wrap my head around all this. I feel like I just got punched in the chest.

I don't really know what to say about this developing news except that it will have a huge impact on the COD community. I wonder if this has anything to do with the high points servers that popped up after the release of COD-WaW?

Well I am sort of glad I havent pre-ordered, apologies to all who have, would be interesting to know how many pre-orders are going to be cancelled now?
Co-op and Zombies in Waw are both ok for a little something different but like everybody else here its online multiplayer that I buy games for.
Guess I don't have to worry whether my pc is up to spec now.
If I wanted to play on listen servers I would buy myself an xbox or PS3.
This was unconfirmed - however 402 did say that you would be able to continue "larger" games. However, the general consensus between all those involved in the cast is practically, no more than around 16 - 20.
