CoD4 server files - MD5 check sums update V1.7

** we are trying something new regarding the 1.6 vs 1.7 file comparison. head to this page to view file changes, sizes, and CRCs Please leave feedback.

Latest files touched by the 1.7 update are

Code:
iw3mp.exe
version.inf
/main/iw_13.iwd
Use this data to make sure your uploads are good. I will also include an excel spread sheet I created.
Update June 27 th 2008- Patch 1.7 files hashes are in Yellow, zip has been updated to reflect changes

NEW TO 1.4 and thanks to Mazzic:

For those that uploaded only the required set of files to run a server, you may have found that you are unable to just download the patch file and apply it to your server.

Quote:
I found that the patch (at least the 1.4) looks to verify that a specific file exist on your computer before the patch will run.

You need to have this file..

c:\program files\activision\call of duty 4 - mordern warfare\main\video\zakhaev_escape.bik

(of course, if you installed in a different location than the default, modify your path appropriately)

The file at that location may be a zero byte file. (nothing needs to be in it.)

How to use the 1.4 patch on an "uploaded" set of server files

For those that uploaded only the required set of files to run a server, you may have found that you are unable to just download the patch file and apply it to your server.

I found that the patch (atleast the 1.4) looks to verify that a specific file exist on your computer before the patch will run.

You need to have this file..

c:\program files\activision\call of duty 4 - mordern warfare\main\video\zakhaev_escape.bik

(of course, if you installed in a different location than the default, modify your path appropriately)

The file at that location may be a zero byte file. (nothing needs to be in it.)

pb?

I do not see the pb folder there, but I assume it is required if you are going to run pb enabled servers. Are all the files needed?

Hi,

I found this very useful when comparing against a semi-corrupt cod4 archive, saved me uploading all ~6gb of files and only the ones that had md5sum mismatches.

Some things to note about:

...
mp_crash_snow.ff FD7289462AC50E47B9F20DFDC6B86799
mp_crash_snow_load.ff 72179AEC25AD4FA34C1D0CB130AD2673
mp_crossfire.ff 6036208EFE6E625487A8CF6C8F806A5C
mp_crossfire_load.ff A2BE9A02E6A640A033FA93A9AB05077D
mp_crash_snow.ff 85A7FC3B477B7BFBDADC0416D7DEE3C0
mp_crash_load.ff 72179AEC25AD4FA34C1D0CB130AD2673
...

mp_crash_snow.ff is in there twice, I assumed (correctly as far as I can tell) that the second mp_crash_snow.ff (in bold) is actually mp_crash.ff (since that is missing).

Also, the md5 sums for mp_crash_load.ff and mp_crash_snow_load.ff are identical. According to my (local, non-corrupt) installation they are different.

As far as I can tell, mp_crash_load.ff should have an MD5 sum of:
8cd02f12a24e87e54b5ed461f558d6ac

Hope this helps.

EDIT: I couldnt find the MD5 sum for mp_crash.ff (85A7FC3B477B7BFBDADC0416D7DEE3C0) on any of the files in that folder (.\zone\english)
The correct sum is c8329d15bd85d3b25c4b2f901809cce9.

Post

If anyone is interested, I used the attached excel file to eaisly check my MD5 sums against the proper sums.

I believe this file is correct as of the time of writing, which is patch 1.7, but this can eaisly be updated as needed.

The 2 versions are identical in all aspects, except the format it is in.

(zip'ed so the forum will accept it)

Thanks syserror,

It's a pain in the ass to keep this updated but well worth it in the long run.

Thanks for your input/update!

I have a feeling 1.7 will be the last patch for COD4, as CoD5 (world at war) will be released within a couple months.

- look for a MD5 post in the new CoDWW section. When I get around to adding it, should be before the MP demo is released.
