Love it. I hope they can pull it off. The trick will be getting all the perks, killstreaks and whatever bells and whistles they have integrated without killing the genre. They have my attention. Surprise me please.

There is hope, if this new CoD gets the support Black Ops 3 did: Update 18 - Patch Notes

PC fans need to stand up and be heard about mod support and dedicated server files.

I wish it were Treyarch making the new game, honestly. They always seemed to be the most PC-friendly out of the developer group. @pcdev genuinely cares about fans of the PC platform.

Me, I'm going to kick back, put my feet up and watch. Taking bets on how they are going to screw up their own franchise. Will it be kill streaks? Exploding dogs? equipping everyone with smg's?There is going to be some bull shittery going on, it's just a case of trying to figure out quite how they are going to mess it up this time. Because what we want from a WWII CoD is not what they are going to give us. We want a modern updated verson of CoD 1/2. Nice new graphics but the same mechanics. What they will give us is imaginary weapons, sights that can see through walls and perks to make super soldiers of the players.

Could not agree more Penn. I'm looking for a BF4 replacement and if that brings me back to WWII then I'd be happier than a pig in shit. However I have a feeling I'm going to be as happy as a pig in a slaughter house......

Crossing fingers and toes but not getting my hopes up.

I agree. Although I would change a few mechanics from the CoD2 days. Such as being able to throw a nade half the map and I would add the ability to run.

As much as I like the change of era for the CoD series I can't see it being any different from the usual format on PC. A half baked console port, 6 v 6, matchmaking, P2P, config lockdown, no server browser, no rentable servers, pay to win, season pass, paid DLC, no MP info until a week before launch....I could go on!

Heck, it's started already with the PS consoles getting everything 1 month ahead of every other platform! Call me cynical if you like but I can't see past this years game being another big disapointment to the PC platform. I would love to be proved wrong on this but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I think the last CoD I put any hours into was Black Ops. The guys in the clan played it and I remember it being very good. It all became very silly after that.

That is not good news. My assumption is the PC version of the game will be a bad console port.

Hasn't that been true for the last 8 years since Modern Warfare II?

Yes. I guess I had a faint hope that they may actually try for the pc business.

I'm passing until everyone tells me it's great.

There is the faintest of hope, no one will cheer as loud as me if they do right by the PC gaming community. If they make the game we deserve I will play the heck out of it.
