pk3 editing

im trying to edit my pk3 for the m1 garand tik the line cantpartialreload.
but im using winrar to view my pk3`s but it wont let me delete the text.

Send a message via Skype™ to rudedog
extract the pk3 file and keep the directory structure.

Make your edits (use notepad not wordpad or word).

Rezip or rerar then change the zip or rar to pk3, again making sure to keep the dir structure.


I know winzip will let you edit files on the fly without having to go through all the above.

One last thing, make sure the file is not read only (right click properties)

Only recommendation I would add is to use a different file name for the new pk3. To save space, you can leave out any unchanged files. As long as the new file comes after the original alphabetically (like zzMyM1Mod.pk3) it will have its version used instead of the original. This way you can later simply remove your mod version without any extra work - just remove the mod pk3.
