private BF4 dedicated servers for PC

Hi admins,
That's 2 weeks now i started to reach How To's build a BF4 dedicated on my own box. Couldn't find any for now. Only config files and external soft tutos. I even found someone stating no dedicated servers could run outside of an official provider server.
Could you please confirm that or point me to your favorite links? Many thanks in advance!

Correct, you can only run a dedicated server from a official provider. You can not run a dedi server on your own box/hardware.

I hate to say it but those days are long gone.....

I would be curious to know if official providers had to buy a licence to be allowed to rent servers.

I believe they use a subscription model - they have to pay by the seat. And only a few preferred providers so that the code doesn't get into the wild.
