Thanks:

To Treyarch for a great game, your modtools, your support in the game and the tools. Best Wishes to all of you with Black Ops.

Special thanks to my wife who never called the police to report a missing husband……

Behind the scenes:

Many if not all of you will recognize the underlying basis for Stronghold. It is indeed Bessie that shipped with the modtools. This map had always attracted me to it with its basic layout and yet it constantly spoke to me in hushed tones that it needed to breath.

I had started another map called Gavutu for the pacific ocean setting. This map was just not coming together for me at all. But, I had built some new prefabs for it and just for fun I placed them in Bessie. The rest is history. The look stayed similar but the content of Bessie changed radically. It is my hope that with the map opened up the way that I approached it you will find a map that gives all player styles something to enjoy.

This map was about a 250 hour labour of enjoyment. I don’t map fast as you can see. But I do hope that the time spent will translate into fun for all of you who play it.

There will most likely be another release of this map as a new script, being developed, becomes available. Also, a new version of this map is currently under construction so as to convert this map to zeroy's Vietnam Mod.

Feedback is very important to me so please let me know if you find anything wrong, glitchy or in need of attention.

Newer version is now out. Change Log and filefront link changed and added in the original post.

Unless anything major comes up with it then this release should be it. Im now at work doing the vietnam mod conversion for Zeroy. There is lots of interest to redo this map as a night/rain version. I am considering this as well. News to follow.
