R-30: get status about VIP-Slot and join Queue?

Hi.

With the release of R-30 a few quotes of GSP mails were done in different forums in which it was said that R-30 provides a way to enable/disable the
use of the reserved Slots and the join queue. One of that is for example
http://phogue.net/forum/viewtopic.ph...p=14691#p14687

Can someone confirm those changes, name the settings which have
to be done in the server config files and if there is a way to query
if reserved slots and join queue is active or not using rcon?

We have a number of questions about reserved slots without function
although all tasks done using rcon were correctly done and the server
did respond correctly to them.

Thanks
Phil.

Currently it is like this:

The RSPs control the join queue on/off setting. The reason this setting exists at all is because for some locations (Taiwan and Russia have been identified so far) the high latency between game servers and master servers expose race conditions in the networking middleware we use. We've looked into fixing the middleware but have decided against it. Instead, we have given those RSPs the option to disable the join queue on their servers.

Server admins should not be given control over this setting because they don't have access to enough data to know whether disabling the join queue will make a noticeable difference to their game server stability.

In some future release of the game server we'll add the status of the join queue enable/disable setting to the serverInfo command, so you can at least read it. However we currently don't have any ETA for Server R31 (because we don't have enough fixes bunched up to warrant sending out a server update).

So... it took a while, but Server R32 exposes this information in the serverInfo command.
