Battlefield 3: Close Quarters | Donya Fortress Gameplay Trailer
Battlefield 3: Close Quarters | Donya Fortress Gameplay Trailer As you may already know, we are gearing up for a June release of our upcoming themed expanion pack Battlefield 3™: Close Quarters. If you’ve followed us lately here on the Battlefield Blog, you know this is an expansion pack where we move the battlefield indoors to present relentless infantry action with unprecedented HD Destruction. Having recently held a European and U.S. media event, we are proud to present the second of four maps included in Close Quarters, dubbed Donya Fortress (internally called simply “Palace” after its working name). In today’s new gameplay trailer, you’ll see more of the gameplay changing HD Destruction, plus a glimpse of the new game mode Conquest Domination. Conquest Domination is basically a clever mix of the tactical Conquest mode and the instant action gameplay approach in Close Quarters, tailored to the tight level design and frantic close quarters combat. http://blogs.battlefield.com/2012/04...-trailer-live/ |

I'm not going to lie, this looks pretty cool, already way better than Ziba Tower IMO.

I agree it does look very good, however I just wish is was not so CoD-ish.
At least we'll get some new content for BF3 until the real Battlefield-ish DLC is released later on...

People will buy this for whichever reason. And when the meetings take place and the suits with the pie charts in a Powerpoint show that Operation Metro is the most played map of the base game and Close Quarters sold a lot the EA top brass in charge will ask "Why focus on vehicles when infantry only seems to be what the players want?"
Yeah, Armored Kill or whatever it is called will come out in Q3, but by that time too many new games will be out for ADHD consolers to care and even PC players will have a bunch of new games to try out like Ravaged and Rikochet which will allow modding and flexibility. Sales will be less for that DLC. And when that pie chart is shown the Battlefield we are hoping for will be gone.

Have to agree with Rude's comments above. IMO, looks too much like COD semi-mindless fragfest and/or could also see players camping prone in corners (or wherever) to get high kd's & just like with the newer COD games - they get boring pretty fast IMO.
Hopefully I'm wrong on that and it's more BF than COD and more about teamwork. Needless to say - it's not a day 1 purchase for me until after I see some gameplay/rounds videos... |

Clearly vehicles are BF3's strongsuit and this is the opposite.
When push comes to shove imo the player movement still isn't where it needs to be. Yet it looks so inviting in a video. It's a video. Holy hell what are they doing making everyone wait till a year after release to have vehicle DLC? Scratches head. |

I still recall the first MoH 2010 MP videos looked good. However the actual game didn't come close to the promo videos. |

can't stand paid DLC as it splits the community. But i guess this is now inevitable
