PB Support?

Wth extra funds becoming available from the Kickstarter project, perhaps it would be feasible to add PB Support to the game now?

Tripwire gained big Kudos for adding it to RO2 IMHO, so it can be done by indie studios, and given how badly hacked the U3 engine is it would be well worth adding a second layer of protection to it if you want it to last.

I know that everyone I played with in Homefront was over all the hackers on the servers by the second day, and with only VAC we felt powerless to do anything about it.

Anybody else like to see it added? I love being able to stream our RO2 server to PBBANS, and would love to be able to stream Ravaged as well.

A second line of defense would be good, I also played Homefront and well remember the hackers! that game has so much promise but failed on the end due to hackers, and an odd support philosophy from the Dev's. Where they had a clear idea of the game they were making but allowed themselves to be bullied to make it more CoD like and in turn nurfed the weapons and lost their way. Such high hopes for Homefront all for nothing.

We definitely want to add more anti-cheat software, we are just not sure as of this point which way we are headed with it. PB is in the mix though!, as well as meta bans, and some others, is the general consensus that PB is the best?

PBBANS provide IMHO an essential service in helping keep servers clean, which they can obviously only do for PB enabled games.

Maydax gets out and about a fair bit and frequents these forums as well, some interesting comments on their service here.

Metabans I'm not so familiar with but they do have a lot of community support, though it looks like they need it right now.

Punkbuster gets a bad rap, but it is better than nothing. If it is the top anti-cheat it will also be the top anti-cheat tool studied and broken by the hackers. Just like Windows vs. OSX for viruses.

We use PB and stream to PBBans (not GGC yet) and we utilize Metabans. Sometimes human intuition is needed when the cheating human is sneaky enough to hide his hacking. Just like the guy on that reddit post pointed out.

PBBans and Metabans are actively supported which is why we use them. However these two services rely on other software, PB and ProCon respectively. What else is there really beside VAC as another anti-cheat solution?

I would hate to see another Homefront where known hacks worked on day one. It completely ruined the launch of the game... As Ravaged is built on the same engine I fear the same...
