Breakdown of the new Crysis 3 pre trailer, trailer

No I did not make a mistake in the title of this post.

EA has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming trailer that is going to be released on April 24th, think Call of Duty Modern Warefare teaser trailer for their trailer.....



We break down this trailer for you

Crysis 3 trailer is 19 seconds long

- ESRB logo on screen for 4 seconds
- Game play footage (could be pre rendered or in game footage not sure) 7 seconds
- Crysis 3 logo on screen for 4 seconds
- Game play trailer coming apil 24th text, on screen for 4 seconds

Yeah it just seems silly especially when the middling devs try this.
The guys like EA/Dice taking a page out of the Activision playbook is a bit disappointing.
But hey what do ya expect.
There are only so many ways to build buzz.

Even though the game is way out (Spring 2013) - was encouraged to hear it will follow Crysis' direction (from a CinemaBlend article )

Although its official announcement did delve into what Crysis 3 will deliver in terms of story, not much has been unveiled regarding the third installment's gameplay -- yet. Developer Crytek has revealed that the first-person shooter's gameplay will follow in the footsteps of the original Crysis.

Crytek CEO and president, Cevat Yerli, confirmed the news on Twitter. "Crysis3 will be more a spiritual successor in gameplay to Crysis 1 instead of Crysis 2

And that PC's will be ahead of consoles. My fear is that because of the technical brick wall devs have hit because of 5 year old consoles - means the big huge maps that we could originally explore (and I still do) in Crysis - will have to be much smaller due to their current limitations (which he said for Crysis 2). That being said they were still pretty big in Crysis 2.

Crysis 3 is going to push the current generation of consoles to the limit, according to Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli.

Speaking out on Twitter, Yerli boasted, "Crysis 3 will push the Xbox 360, PS3 to its limits."

And I tend to believe him. The original Crysis was widely hailed as one of the best graphically looking games. At the time, very few PCs could handle the game all the way turned up; it was a game that was way ahead of its time. Even now, some computers struggle to run it.

Of course, Crysis 2 was released for all platforms: PC, Xbox 360, and PC. Needless to say, it looked damn good as well. But how is Crysis 3 going to stack up to its predecessor?

According to Yerli, it'll be "ahead of Crysis 2, but Crysis 3 on PC will be clearly ahead."

Crysis 3 is due out in Spring 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Anyway - I'll buy it despite not loving the gameplay as much or the MP - but just to wander around in the beautiful worlds (ie: the CryEngine..).
