This in from EA:

We inadvertently released an out-dated Linux version for today’s Battlefield 2 Demo Server (bf2-linuxded-1.0.2446.12d-installer.sh).

We will follow up early next week with a version that works.

LOL! Following true to form...EA sucks. How can you release the WRONG version and yet not have the RIGHT version? They must have chimpanzies running the show. It was this way with UT if I remember correctly. Anyway.....since the server files are wrong...and they don't say how they are wrong other than wrong version, I wonder what they will do to fix them. I noticed that the timelimit in the server control file is set to 0. That seems contrary to what EA games released earlier.

The demo binaries are out. They're calling it "A beta version of the Demo Linux server". A beta demo - nice. hahaha.

Anyway, I threw up a 64 slot linux server earlier, so it seems to basically work.

It was all a big ploy by Microsoft to get us to use Window Servers. :P
