Unknown Soldier needs help changing his name.....

Is there a name changing program out for CoD? Do you know were we can get it?

I've been running one on our MC Gamers servers for a while now, changes Unknown Soldier to NONAME_<playerid>_<timestamp>_<randomnum>. It's available on the HamGoodies CoDaM add-on: http://www.iwnation.com/Hosted/CoDaM/

THAT'S where all these NONAME.... players are coming from on our servers now! HAHAHAHA. For a while I thought it was one guy who had this thing for changing his numbers randomly, until I noticed the IPs were always different. lol! I figured something like Gayspy was doing it. Well, I must say Hammer you're kinder than I would have been. I'd have had a dictionary of adjectives (flaming, lightweight, effeminate, clueless etc) and nouns (noob, target, bullet sponge, etc) and assigned each randomly.

LOL, indeed other folks running my mod have already changed the names to something more colorful. I've seen MORON_... and I_AM_AN_IDIOT.... and a couple of others. I wasn't out to piss any players, or give our clan a bad rep; just needed a way to prevent the problems with multiple unnamed soldiers on a server. :!:

Ok, I knew something was up. I've just been too busy to get around to the forums.

Personally, I never had a problem with the Unknown Soldier. The next one on got kicked by the server bot, anyway. Also, I run mohstats on the server and it was able to "ban" Unknown Soldier so that their stats would not compile nor have an html page written. But now an html page is written for every NONAME, I_AM_AN_IDIOT, and MORON that comes by :?

Anyone familiar enough with mohstats that could tell me if it is possible to not include people based upon a partial name?

hmm(I guess I could work it so that they have to have played x rounds or have y kills before the pages are written.)

I do believe there is a way of doing this. My suggestion is to click the link at the bottom of your stats page that takes you to the mohstats website and post the question in their forums, you should get an answer. They are not as busy as this one so it may take a day or so.

I was just on my way over there to do that. I just finished addding the code to reduce the amount of of html pages output, but I would still like to not even compile these people in the stats. (Players wouldn't get any credit for killing the nOObs though :dis: )

Yeah, that was just going to be my comment. Although in thinking about it I guess they also wouldnt get the deaths either (although for most I'm sure there are more kills than deaths on these people, but it does help to even it out a bit)

All you have to do is add MORON, I_M_A>IDIOT, or NONAME to your bann list in the config for mohstats and they won't show up. :)
