"sv_maxrate * 8 * #of slots * 60*60*24*30/8 = bytes in a month."
Let's assume you dedicate 100kbits/sec per player (sv_maxrate 10000):
10000 * 8 * 16 slots = 1280000 (or 1.28 Mbits/sec sustained)
*60sec*60min*24hrs*30days = 3,317,760,000,000 bits a month
/8 (bits-to-bytes) = 414,720,000,000, or 414 Gigabytes/month.
... this assumes full load, all slots active, all the time. Your milegale will be less than this; due to people not shooting, map reloads, and not always being busy.

That sounds about right, Here at codadmin we are at about 800Gigs for a 24 player and 30 player server filled 99% of the time.
We also run a TS server on the box as well as uploading files and maps to test on a third server from time to time.

remember if its a regular clan server or what not usually only have lots of traffic after work hours and school hours, (not many people play during there sleep "there are exceptions .... m0g")
person I know runs 7 quake servers, most of em around 15 man he does about 500 GB/Month and peaks at 2mbit/s I think... or was it 1.6 can't remember :o
