View Full Version : How to set up the message mod exactly?

hi


i already have some information

i have the serverside zzz_RudeDog_BoS_MessageCenter_svr_.pk3
and to get the messages working i need it to place in the main folder
right?

k second
in my config (in the uo folder??) i have to put 8 lines either with "" or with "text"
(the seta sv_linerd1 "your message 1" // message one) thing


is there a clientside mod needed to display the messages ?
If yes how to get it and how to set up?

do i have the correct version of the mod?

I never heard of that one before. But people have modded my message center so that should not be a problem

Normaly you place the pk3 file in your main folder
add the lines to your cfg file
restart the server.

Your clients do not need any server sided mod for this to work

The reason others mod my message center is to add other mods to it. Meaning in CoD you can only run one mod at a time. I have made modifications to my messge center so you could run two mods at the same time.

Could you update the Message Center rude to include the latest versions of the gametype scripts ?

People were going NUTS trying to figure out if the 1.51 patch prevented Flak damage to bases or not. Many servers it did, many servers it didn't. And it ended up being that the rather innocuous-looking Message Center is simply running the old gametype script. Both your version and Brian's version need updating I believe, as they are still quite popular.

I guess people just see it as being something stand-alone and do not realize it is tied into the gametype scripts.

That's the problem with CoD and it's scripting, only one script at a time.

The problem I've had is, I don't have COD:UO to upgrade my scripts. I will go out this weekend and purchase a copy and update my script by the end of the weekend.

By using the "^"then the corisponding number you can color your messages. It's just like the way you would do it for your on screen name.

I can look up the numbers, there someone on the boards.

OK guys, sorry for the delay.

This should work, if you can test it with all game types and report back here. If all goes well, I will upload this to the downloads section.


Download rudedog' s MC V2.0 for COD:UO (http://www.fpsadmin.com/rudedogs_MC_CODUO_1.51.zip) 1.51 (all game types supported)

Remember:

you can only have one mod running at a time
you need to add all 8 messages and the delay to your cfg file
you will need to restart your server for this to take effect.

works fine with TDM
