I haven't had the chance yet to get the patch, patch our server and all our clients.

I have heard good and bad though.

good- Bunnyhopping reduced
bad- sniper rifles harder to hit with

bad- no AC included with this patch
good- ability to ban by CD key.

Patch isn't released yet- lets wait and see what it brings. Personally, the idea of being able to ban by CD key IMHO would chase cheaters away from this game in droves. Most cheaters in these games are pre-pubescent morons who have a warez copy anyhow, let alone finding some way to scrape up the initial 50 bucks, let alone buying more copies once they have been busted on a few servers.

We will make our banned key list public, along with game demo of every busted cd key we catch. If anybody wants them, when the time comes- contact me.

Makin sniper rifles harder to use and kill with is GOOD, not bad in my opinion. It's way to easy to kill someone on very long range and even with moving targets. The way it is now, skills is not needed.

Yeah but taking the realism away from something that was made to kill from long distances is bad in my eyes. They all want these realistic games but they keep taking away things that make them realistic.

Its great for them to take the bunny hopping away. And to make something that will require the team to work together is the best part of it. Without teamwork its just a big DM party.

Im extremely happy to see the bunny hopping go away! worst part about the game, then secondly is the sniping. I completely agree with steel it is way to easy. why would you want sniping that easy? 75% of the time you dont even need your scope, you can shoot while running and hit them headshot like that. no tru shot can do that. i think something like you can only lay down or kneel while shooting and also, if uve been runnin around the map crazy, u should have like tired feeling and ur sniper crosshair should move alot? altho i am anticipating this patch and wondering what they really did...

Yeah if they decide to let it out . I'm sick of the wait . I know I'm not the only SA who is . They need to just release it .Also add a few more mp maps like a nifty 15 pack .

I dont support public lists for the simple reason who is to say the Admin doing the banning was'nt in a pissy mood/drunk/high/fight with GF/dog pissed on his couch (again) and just banned someone from spite?

There is only a finite number of servers at any one time and far fewer of the really really good ones.

I respect your opinion Jasper, and understand fully where you and others who have expressed a concern regarding BS admins are coming from.

After a year and a half of running public MOHAA server, only a small number of players have warranted true banning, and this is done only after myself or one of two other admins have captured evidence, wether it be Delator log files, CI files, and most recently video of the hacker in action.

Others have warranted banning for impropper, vulgar, or unsportsmanlike behavior. These IP's are not added into the listings. When I say vulgar, use your imagination here, as I am sure you have seen some 12 year olds joining servers who have just watched George Carlin's list of 7 that you cant say on television, and feel so empowered with this list they choose to practice on our server, verbally abusing all guests and clan members until being kicked several times- then getting banned. These do not get added to list for cheaters- just assholes.

I do not take banning a player lightly, nor do any of our admins. Furthermore, it has been drilled into our admins heads, that it is better to let 100 cheats get away, than to convict 1 falsely.

To support the actual ban by CD key, the only evidence that I will accept at this point will be a clearly blatant cheat caught by the victim recording a demo of his Kill-Cam, where it is overly obvious the individual is using a hack of some kind. Once more effective AC solutions are available, this is subject to change. I am making it very difficult to prove the case, but if it is beyond a reasonable doubt, have no misgivings- that player will be banned, and any IP addy or CD key info I have will be made public to our allies and any other AC allies who feel the same way.

I too am wary of people who get a bug up their ass and start to ban ppl. IMHO- the admins that do that run servers that are not fit to play on anyhow, so no loss felt here.

It would be nice if Anti-cheat and busted cheater banning was simply an IW supported feature built into the game so we (server admins) didn't have to be server police, judge, jury, and executioner. It is not a position I am happy to have been put in yet again, after fighting the battle for so long in MOHAA. And since I can not fight the battle in two games, I have quit MOHAA to dedicate both my gaming and my AC battle to just CoD.

I agree whole heartedly with you. My concern is someones IP is listed and all that player did was piss an admin off or for anything but cheating.

Activision is still holding it. There is no further information available. Gamespy released that it would be released Christmas week, but that was NEVER confirmed by Activision or IW. Sorry, there is no news.

Sure wish it would come out. Im so sick of the damn bunny hoppers I decided to go back to Day of Defeat until its patched..
