Just received word from EA that, they are in need of a SprearHead server running 2.11 for some testing.
can you find out if someone in the community would be willing to forward the IP Adress of their Spearhead server (running the 2.11 Patch) so that one of our engineers can playtest the difference between the 2.11 and 2.15 patches? We’re in the process of trying to track down the source for the patches and see if there are any immediately noticeable difference in the aiming code, and if a difference might still be pertinent and possibly applicable to MOHPA. It might help if our engineer can actually get a playtest going to see for himself.
If anyone has this running please post your server info in this thread. EA would like to stop by your server and do some playtesting.
Thanks in advance.

Why are they interested is Spearhead aiming? The only diff in the 2.11 and 2.15 patch is they turned cg_smoothclients off by default in the 2.15. Tell them to take a look at Breakthrough. That's were the whole aiming issue started even with cg_smoothclients enabled.

I'm sure they could find a 2.11 server on GameSpy

Or heres a thought for EALA. As far as gameplay model PA after AA. After all thats basicly what the MOHTeam asked them to do. As I try to put myself in EALA's shoes I try to understand why AA is off limits. Anyone else get that feeling?
Dear God, they dont get it sometimes. :(

Couldnt agree more tbh....AA is the most played online of any of the MOH Franchise by some way.....it kinda amazes me also that the creators of the game need help from the community to get a bloody server, i mean come on.
If they want access to an AA server give me a shout we run a dual xenon box, and run multiple AA servers, another one is np.
IMO model the game on AA not SH...the majority of the community still play AA over SH, a quick check of ASE/Gamespy will show them that. Please dont f**k this up EA....this is the games last chance i think we all pretty much agree to sink or swim.
So heres hoping

What???
How do you possibly manage to compare PA to SH? If you want to make comparisons then surely BT is the game you mean.

Err NO...maybe you should read the thread AGAIN.....
My comment is to model PA on AA rather than SH, where do i compare to PA to SH?

The request from EA looks to me as a "read between the lines message". I was really surprised at first, I mean, how difficult can it be to set up a 2.11 server? After some thinking i came up with that the patch is far from ready. 2-3 weeks ago i read what chiknbake had written on EA's message board, 1 to 2 weeks until it's ready was hes guess. Ok, he, and the rest of TKO is out of the game now, he could do nothing more than guess. I'm guessing too, i'm guessing EALA's not so happy with the mp code and if I remember it right it was TKO's work.
Second guess, the patch will be out just before BIA release to prevent buyers from buying that and await BF2 instead. Of cource i don't think EA is holding the patch of that reason, no i think they want as much time as posible to get PA right with as little financial damage as posible.
I know, guessing can be dangerous, perhaps as soon as tomorrow i'll have to eat this, be gentle guys :D

Let me remind people once again that TKO created PA content not the MP "code" of PA. Trust me there are several things that I tried to get changed for the MDK and the response was that it was in EALA's hands.
Some want to blame the issues with MP on TKO but the fact is that MP can only be as good as the foundation it’s built off of.
Why could EALA not host a SH 2.11 and 2.15 server is an excellent question. I emailed Jon at EALA when I got this "request for help" and asked an even better question as to why they were missing the target once again...AA. I assume at this point that AA is simply hands off. Why I don’t know and it makes no sense.
Now on the patch it was due out much sooner but I think the community and the MOHTeam "put the fear of god" into them letting them know that if this is the last patch it’s going to have to be a major one. On the other hand it could be that not enough people are left on the PA project. Either case the bottom line is that we are all in the dark.....the community and even the MOHTeam that are supposed to be a direct link to devs from the community.
Rude knows our pain. We constantly ask for updates just to make sure someone is still looking at the EA dev boards.

Edit: General, my misstake, i remembered it wrong obviosly
AA off limit, could it be that the guys who wrote that, or at least some of them now gets their paycheck from Infinity Ward/Activison? More guessing here... pride?

This is rather interesting. If anyone here answers the call, please post so. I'd like to see exactly what EA has in store, and what else they might be looking into.

Looks like the same crap AA/SH and BT went through as far as support goes.
I havn't been reading up on the PA news as much as I'd like but seems to me that they either canned or lost most of the PA team and now they are gonna make the only guys they have left to put out a final patch and then leave us flying in the breeze.
Please correct me if anything I thought is wrong because I admit, I do not know the whole story. But it just burns me to find out that after all this hype about PA, the are pulling the same or similar (no support) crap on us.
thinking....
You just wait. there will arise a huge bug that bypasses PunkBuster and PB will say its EA code's fault and say they need to fix it. Then we wont have support or updates and PA will turn into the Cheater fest that all the other versions of MOH has.

Hey Tash, welcome to the mohadmin forums m8y ;)
Well I still see no reason they can't use ONE office machine to put in SH 2.11. Unless they have no clue what they are looking for in terms of aimcodes... which would explain the need for experienced community.
and as long as PB is getting payed to support PA, we don't have to fear from cheaters in that we now have the power to at least get them banned from their key, which we could only do per server on the MOH-franchise. Sure we still need screenies, but it's a small comfort nonetheless.
I'm available for any Euro experiments if they need it Rude...
full control 100 mbit p4@3.2Ghz 1GB RAM, PA, MOHAA, SH, BT, anything they need. I can also provide an older server if they want to see the effect of P4 vs PIII and older Athlons.
Dutchman out.

Got word that the engineer placed with looking into this help request was canned in the big EALA layoff.
Anyone else getting a very uneasy feeling about PA's patch#2 or Linux server?

You know... I'm ALWAYS tempted to say to some companies I can do their Beta testing single-handedly... and this time I am thinking more and more I was right... It's such a shame to abandon a game like this after spending so much PR on it... total bust IMO since World of Warcraft is going live before the patch will come out...
Reminder: I will look into the patch briefly and then release RDHrealism 2.0 final... Stay tuned ;)
