Hi,
I am new with server gaming. I have setup a server for MOHAA. When connecting with other versions (brakethrough ect) i get the message "The server is using an older version". (1.11) Is there a way to upgrade this?
Or; is the only way to tackle this installing another version?

You will always get that message when the client is newer than the server. The server would need to be patched to a higher version or have the expansion for SH or BT added to get rid of messages.

Thank You SNYPE,
I do have all versions of MOH, but i only know how to setup a server (without CD) for MOHAA. This is because EA provides a patch for it.
Are there also "no CD patches" for the other versions? If so; how do i obtain them?
And, if MOHAA can be patched, where do i find this patch?
As i said before; i'm quite new in this...

You can get MOH patches at EA.com or try 3DGamers.com.

After you patched up to the hilt you should always be able to host without CD. At least I can host SH and MOHAA without CD and without some odd nocd-patch.

Thanks guys,
Still one thing i don't get.
When i join an online game on another gameserver with a friend, he joins with spearhead, i with breaktrough. We both join the same game.
But; when i run a game only people with the same game running can join.
How do they do that?
Anybody knows?

It's because BT is seen as an upgraded Spearhead, allowing you some backwards compatibility in joining games, but not hosting them, since BT offers some features older versions (SH and AA) won't support.
I think that's the short short version of it, anyway ;)

That basically describes it. If you want to host a Spearhead server, you will have to start it with Spearhead.
