server resource usage

hi

ive got a 3000+ amd athlon dedicated server on order (with 1 gb of ram) and was wondering (on estimate) how many slots this server could host lag free? its connected to a 100mb connection but i have seen alot of servers lagging out there and was hoping mine wouldnt be one of them. im hoping to host at least 50+ slots.

Considering what the 1.1 patch has done for the dedicated server CPU usage you should be in good shape.

The max playing count is 32 per server so I would suggest running two 20 players servers and see how you do.

We are running a 3.0 Mhz P4 with 1GB of RAM that we rent from www.servermatrix.com and we are able to run two servers with no problem.

I would follow Fluff's suggestion. Start lower, work your way up.
