I just recieved some information from a potentail member on the client side.
He is on a college network, So im posting his problem so the we can figure this out and the mohteam can pass it to EA, Before he returns the game.
Hey guys... I finally shelled out the $$$ to get MoH:PA!
I have one major problem though.
When I try to login to EA's member thingy (in the multiplayer menu), it freezes the game.
I can't login to whatever that service is, so I can't even access the server list.
The demo had no such problems (although it lagged heavily).
It must have something to do with the school's firewall (again).
The readme file says it needs certain ports open, and the manual mentions something about a "corporate network" (which would be set up the same way as my school's probably).
All it says is to contact the network admin.
I very seriously doubt that they would open up any ports, even for my IP address only, since every open port is another security hole.
It frustrates me to no end that some games just will not work behind firewalls.
I have absolutely no problems in BF1942, and I'm very grateful for that.
The game companies' solution is always to "turn off the firewall."
What help is a firewall if you turn it off for a few hours at a time? It isn't any help at all!
Maybe if I'm *REALLY* lucky they will fix it in the upcoming patch, but I doubt it.
I'm going to contact EA's customer service tomorrow to see if they have a solution.
If they can't help me, I'm going to see if I can return it to them, since Wal-Mart only does exchanges on open software.
I paid $65 (after tax) for this game so I could play online, not so it could freeze my system
