Server timing out when try to join.

Buddy of mine is having the problem below,any help would be appreciated.


im having one problem though, the only way i can connect to a mulitplayer match is if i click to join a quick start match at the welcome tab. if i try to pick the server i want to go to, even if its the same one that was selected for me on the quick start tab, it wont let me join. says the server timed out. can anyone help me?

noone else has had this problem?
just curious in case it's something with his settings.

Just shooting in the dark here... but tell him to enable the console via the shortcut (+set ui_console 1), and try it again. When it times out again, have him pop open the console and read it to check for error messages.
