Problem Starting PA

When I try to start the game it says "cd/dvd emulation software detected. Please disable all cd/dvd emulator software and restart the game"

WTF is this?? I dont run any emulators.

If the program detects it there must be something there.
There are programs out there that allow you to play your CD/DVD-ROM games on your PC without a CD/DVD-ROM drive or the actual disc. Are you positive it didnt come bundled with something else?

I know that if you have daemon tools or alcohol 120% it may be an issue. Try going into the option on either of those 2 if you have them and disable the emulation. Also I believe nero has this. This should help. I seen something on this somewhere.

While I can understand EA's point of incorporating CD or DVD copyright protection, I would have to say I do not agree that they should be able to dictate to me what can and can not be installed on my machine. I too had a problem and it was my Nero program that was the issue. I'd like to consider myself an honest person - I buy all my games and even go so far as not even using no CD cracks. Putting a disc in the drive is not that big an issue to me.

Doom 3 also has this same type of protection incorporated in it as well. Instead of telling me to remove a program I use for legitimate use, I think they should devise a better protection code for the CD's.

Sorry to ramble or complain about a trival thing, but I really do see a wrong with what these companies are starting to do.

No actually you have a good point. I dont think they should be able to either. Personaly I bought the game and the very first thing I did was make an image of the disc. If anything happens to the store bought disc im not out 65 bucks. ;)

hey guys, i was just wondering once my copy of pacific assult arrives am i going to be able to use it on all 3 pc's here at the same time or is ea going to make me buy 3 copy's :(

You can use it on all three, they can connect over LAN at the same time, but only one would be able to connect to any given Internet server.
