Hello All:
I have a new release of the HLC Rcon Mod. I improved the interface and added back the in-game access.
Modifications include:
-Redesigned WEAPON CONTROL menu: Now menu lets user know the current status of each weapon (Allow? yes/no). Easier to turn them on/off.
-Added back ingame access through QUICKMESSAGE MENU ("v" key), then by pressing "4". HLC RCON Menu is still available thru MAIN menu.

Moses, I'd first off like to say your program is a "God-send". No pun intended. But, it doesn't completely work w/ported maps on our server, Win2K OS. Map restart doesn't work.

Hey Rugbutt,
Could you email me some more info on the problem? Such as when it is/isn't working, and any commonalities between the maps when it doesn't work.

Ok, check this out. After I posted this I went back in and now it works. Hell, maybe I did something wrong.

One thing to keep in mind if a command does not seem to work:
Make sure the console window is closed. I realize this is ridiculous, but the server won't accept any commands from the RCON mod if the console window is open.

im not sure what is going on here, but when i try to reenable the bar weapon, it doesnt show up for anyone else. i havent tried restarting the server, but they cant select this weapon.
edit: ok... restarted everything.. problem still there. ill try to explain this as best as i can. lets say i disable all weapons but the snipers. when i go back to enable the rest of the weapons, as i go down the list selecting "yes", ones i previously selected "yes" on change to "no" (havent noticed if it is any particular pattern.), i eventually get them all to yes, but the bar weapon will not reenable. when i do enable it, it comes up in my list of weapons, but i cannot select it.. nothing happens when i click it. it does not show up on the other clients playing.

This tool rocks! Easy to use, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to set it up. Anyone can be up and running in minutes.
Great for those members who are "rcon challanged" or just if you don't like typing the stuff in. Love it. Great job.

I made a self installer w/the password already set up for my clan mates. All they do is auto install and awayyyyyyyyyyyyyy they go. I used the tool all night long and no problems at all. I have some suggestions for ver 3.2 though.
Give us the ability to add custom (ported) map names. We're using several of the singleplayer maps that were ported for multi. It's so easy to use this tool I find myself hating to play the ported maps.........lol. Damn you Moses!!!!! :lol:

This is a REALLY REALLY freakin weird problem Cotto....
Are you running ANY mods whatsoever on the server? Any different gametype mods, realism mods, anything?? Email me if you wish. Our troubleshooting may go faster that way; If we come to a solution we can always post it here in case others have the same problem. Which brings me to ask...
IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM???

Love the tool, great job.
I would be very interested in knowing what your planned improvements are for V3.2 :)
I would like the kick option changed to display the list of people on the server and allow me to select a name and click a kick or ban button. I'm not sure if this is possible though.
Also let us setup auto display messages, that would be shown to players on server every few minutes ?
Anyway thanks for a great admin tool.

I agree w/ pagan, I'd love to be able to set certain messages to play every 5 min or so and It would be so much easier to kick the player by name than number. Are you going to include support for new maps (i.e. so we can add our own to the current list)

Hello Everyone,
Here's the story on integrating those nifty list boxes (player list, map list, etc). This is from the "horse's mouth" (IW):
In order for a .menu script to interact with listbox items (for instance, to click a playername or map in the box, then kick/or load it) a UIscript must already be hardcoded for the specific action (kick, load map, etc).
Uiscripts are hard-coded into the .dll's and can't be modified without the source code (which hasn't been released). There are currently no uiscripts to execute rcon commands. :(
I am testing work-arounds for these limitations...
I am constantly looking for ways to improve this utility. If ANYONE comes up with scripting to add into this mod that would be useful to the COD community, please email me, and we can work on integrating your improvements into the next release (and give you credit for your work in the ABOUT menu, in the Readme.txt file, and any Forum posts associated with the release on any website).
A new, custom version of the HLC RCON mod will be available VERY soon with full support for the latest release of PoolMaster's PRM Realism. The new PRM will include support for the DEMOLTION gametype, and the HLC RCON tool will include a section for the specific DEMOLITION GT commands. The new Demolition commands were contributed by |Dx3| EvilTwin1, who spent alot of time learning the scripting and working to add these new features.

Hi there I’m fairly new to COD and the Rcon commands, I’m a hardcore CS server guy and player, but I got COD for Christmas and I decided to set up a game server for it, I’ve scoured over the forums looking for an answer but I have found nothing in my searches, I’m running a Linux dedicated server with COD running and its perfect no problems got it running first shot, I downloaded this module HLCRcon_v3.1 installed it added my the +exec HLCRCON.CFG to the shortcut as per the readme instructions and it all shows up, now when I attempt to execute an rcon command via the UI menu nothing happens, when I look into the console i see the BADRCONPASSWORD displayed, simple fix I’m sure just need to know what I’ve done wrong is all.
Also edited the HLCRCON.CFG and put it into my COD directory of my gamming rig
Otherwise this site is a great source for noobies and advanced alike, well put together and super courteous posts. Added to favorites. I may not post much but I read allot

A few questions:
1) I assume that you downloaded the RCON mod to your gaming rig and set the desktop shortcut up for the gaming rig and not the server, right?
2) You said you edited the .cfg file to put in your rconpassword, so that cannot be the problem. Next step to figuring this out is for you to open the properties window of your desktop shortcut and copy/paste your shortcut string here so I can look at it.

I have a quick question...why can I not see custom maps when I go into your app? All I can see is stock maps and this forces me to use the command to load the custom map..,..

Because in it's current state, it is not setup to do custom maps. This feature has been asked for in a future release. According to moses this is no easy task so it may make it into the next release and it may not. We will just wait and see.

Hey holy_moses, I have another question/request for you. This may be way out on a limb, but I'm not sure if its possible or not.
Now I know that there are autobalancing scripts. I know that programs like serverwatch have commands that will throw inactive players off of their respective teams and into the spectators list. So my question is, do you or anyone else know how you could add a team switch function to your software? I'm thinking something where you enter the player number and click a switch team button to throw them onto the other team.
Issues would be:
1. If you can't get server status running, there is no way to know the ID of a certain player. But, all in all usually it works for someone.
2. Penalty to the player in kills and deaths that hopefully could be turned off somehow.
But being able to force team switches would be pretty cool when certain n00bs or jerks just won't switch teams. Is this possible?
