Can someone post a "working" TDM config? MY server only seems to start in Invader. If i try FF or TDM the server exe crashes.

This should work (from pre release version) Just make sure maps names are correct.

FYI you can use the dslauncher.exe and save your cfg. It's placed in your my documents folder.

I don't see anyone how to password protect slots. Any ideas?

Once i pulled the set sv_privatePassword "help" it stop crashing

Are you using the demo or full version of the game? Full version works with both cvars

1st off thanks for taking the time to work on this.

After some testing this is what i have:

1st: If i remove the private slot cvars (both) I can join without issues.

2nd: If i leave them and go to join, I get the "Password on Server" popup box. If I DON'T enter a password and try joining the game crashes.

3rd: If i DO enter a password everything works fine and it DOESN'T crash.

I just tried this without crashing the server but I was able to connect without using any password???

Now I have a different version then you guys because I'm still waiting on my DVD edition from EA.

Can you try setting PB off This is the only thing I can not try with this version

I seem to be having a similar problem. I made my own .cfg and have tried using the 2 in this thread but to no avail. I can type in the ip and join but i cant join from the browser. Not sure why that would be. I also see no servers in the all seeing eye browser which is strange. I use fire daemon and have setup the command line to execute the server.exe. Any help is much appreciated. Hopefully I may be usefull to some here also in the future. :cool:

I just created a quick server cfg using DSLauncher.exe and then manually added:

set rconpassword "123"
set sv_privateclients 2
set sv_privatepassword "456"

Started it as a Dedicated server, then went to a client and joined the game. It had a message that said "This server has Private Slots.
Enter the password if you want to use one."
I entered and it runs fine.

By default the cfg you create goes to:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\My Documents\EA Games\Medal of Honor Pacific Assault(tm) Multiplayer Demo

You can copy it to the \Program Files\EA GAMES\Medal of Honor Pacific Assault(tm)\main just like the other MOH games and exec it from the Target line.

I have a dedicated server and have the server.cfg saved in the main folder and execute it thru the command line.

When a private slot password is set, it will work fine until someone joins with NO PASSWORD. Then the server crashes.

Your saying you execute it through the command line but when you go to join the server are you using the browser or are you typeing in the ip to join it?

Well I dont know what you are doing differently. I added this to my server cfg:

set password "456"

So now i have:
set password "456"
set sv_privatepassword "123"
set sv_privateclients 2

I have entered with and without the server password AND the privatepassword and my server is still running. NO crashes.

Are you running Linux or Windows? Using the Dedicated server exe?

If no one is on the server, you can join with or without the private password. But if anyone in in using the password, as soon as someone joins without it, it will crash.

yes, It seems that you can use that cfg if you launch your game from the dslauncher.exe

if you want to run it from a command line move it to your main dir.

Sounds to me like its taking a cfg from elsewhere. Run it just like you would SH. Make a shortcut to mohpa_mpdemo_server.exe and then add + exec server.cfg to the Target line. Make sure server.cfg is in the MOHPA Main folder.
