Any word on when the win32 dedicated server will be released? I read somewhere around the 10th.

You need to upload your PA directory to the server (all of it  )
The only dedicated files being released is the linux binaries, and they still need all the PA files as well.
There is no getting out of uploading (all files) to your server.

Ok let me get this straight, our whole clan is supporting the title, a few of us went out and bought the Directors Edition and are supporting the community by running a t3 server. And i have to upload 4.28 GB to the box from the directors edition just to run a deticated server? This is wrong period!
What happened to EA's unprecidented Community Support? how in the hell can they expect me to spend like 3 days uploading on 256 up? This is going to be a major hit on the success of the title, if the community cant get servers up easily to support it. This is a major drop of the ball.
As Moharmy Members i shoulda known this was going to happen when a week and half ago i emailed the team and asked about getting a early download of the win32 Standalone Deticated Server , to be prepared have it uploaded and configed and ready on release for the community. i got no reply.
With way Ea has thier default servers setup.. this game, i hate to say it is going to fail.. its a spawn fest. So it is up to the community to remedy this problem by running solid teamplay configed servers with proper team spawns.
Im very dissipointed, i thought ea had changed... seems its not so!
This is crazy....

I feel your pain. I have not even received my copy yet to get started on this massive upload process.
with that said, I can't even check out the current servers EA has.
Make sure you continue your feedback in the MOHarmy forums. We are voicing our concerns in the MOHteam forums.

This is what i did (all 4.3 GB of it). I also got DirectX ("unable to find d3d9.dll") errors starting the server, which needs to have DX9 installed. Installing DX9 fixed it and the server starts.

I've been uploading the files since I brought the game home on the 3rd. 26 hours total upload time, 14 hours left.
Does anybody have these files hosted anywhere that would help expedite the transfer?
I'm not to thrilled about having to do this however in the mean time I began playing the SP game. Wow, what a great storyline. The few levels I've played so far have fully enveloped me to the point of stirring emotion. EA did a great job on this game regardless of what all the whinners on the EA forums say.

yeah it is a pain.. going to take over a hour to just winrar the dir to prepare for upload, which im doing now.
I hope i dont have to copy reg info from the game and merge into registry on box.
I hopped on a ea Invader server last nite, the spawn config was horrible, spawn and bam the enemy spawn is right behind you and in front, take 3 to 5 steps and get slaughtered, im sure they have the option for spawn set to closest to enemy. it was so run and gun i left after 20 mins.
I will say it ran really smooth online and the map i played bridge looked really nice. This has some great potentail for teamplay if we can get these servers uploaded.
We have been running the MP_Demo since its release and have it at a basic config for teamplay. The Team Spawn setting is nice, it spawns you near your squad but away from the enemy so you can rally and regroup and move out as a team to complete the objs.

after you upload your files, you can run it from the command line or use the dslauncher. should not need dx on the server
I have asked EA what the legality of offering files to other server admins. I know it will be done in private but wanted to find out if we could offer this service publicly (if you can prove you have a server..)

Madman & FluffHead, where did you get your copies of the Director's Cut? I've been looking for a place currently selling it and have had no luck.

I pre-ordered mine back in August, yes August from my local GameStop in So Cal. I know that Fry's Electronic's just had a sale ad listing it at $54.99 if you have one near by. Just try everyone in town, BestBuy, CompUSA, Walmart, Target, EBGames, MicroCenter, etc..

Are you 100% sure about that? If so that is very disappointing, cutting edge game lol.

Thanks Madman & FluffHead - I found and purchased a copy online. Preciatecha! :D
Not that everyone is able to do this, but I am actually going to drive to the city my servers are colocated in (about an hour drive) and copy the game files directly to my designated PA server. The thought of paying for the increased bandwidth usage during a 27+ hour upload makes me all itchy.

does anyone have moh pa dedicated binaries for linux?
If you'd like up to date info on linux resources for MOH: PA you can subscribe to icculus.
Ryan is the man working frantically on the linux support for PA.
But due to all the add on middleware it is taking him longer than expected to come up with a solution.
Thanks to Ryan he will undoubtedly come up with the goods at the end of the day I have all faith in his capabilities- and hopefully we will all have the needed linux support soon :p
For info on subscription to icculus check out rudedogs #7 post http://www.mohadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4163&highlight=icculus
