Hi,

Just wondering if any of you guys have got any tips for me on how to speed up my load up time of maps, it take me quite a while to connect to diffrent maps. However after a few diffrent map changes i noticed that the map change speed is alot better? any ideas on how to speed the map change up? It's deff not a sever side problem as other users get on to the map fine.

My Spec is

PIIII, 2.4Mhz, 256 ram,

slow map loading at first is probably due to the map data taking a while to load from your hard disk. it seems faster after the first map load because this data is then in ram or virtual mem and so can be accessed faster.

the only way to change your load times is to get either a bit more ram (512mb is the recomended) or get a faster hard disk (7200 rpm minimum with sata 150 if your motherboard supports it. RAID 0 would be a great thing as it loads maps within 5 seconds for me :) )

Set up your virtual memory to a custom size of 4096mb in both boxes

Control panel - System - Advanced Tab - Click Settings for performance - advanced - click change for custom virtual memory.

Select your hard drive, click "custom size" set the size as above, click set, click ok for all boxes, restart your PC, should help out a bit.

Otherwise i suggest getting more ram
