View Full Version : VSTR Map Rotation Error Question

I have my map rotation on my server running using VSTR (runs fine). I have a small problem--on maps originally set up for round-based play like "Crossroads" or "The Hunt" or "V2" sometimes players "get stuck" when killed and do not respawn (I have the gametype set to team death match in the VSTR script) automatically. It does not happen every single time you die, nor to the same player all the time (it's sporadic). Once "stuck" in order to respawn they have to join the opposite team and then rejoin their original team. I did not have this problem when my rotation script did not use VSTR. Is this common to using vstr, can I add something to the script to fix this, and has anyone else experienced this error. All the other maps run fine, withouth a hitch, but the errors on the round-based maps are annoying and people leave the server when they start to happen. Any input would be appreciated.

Sorry dude. I have no idea whats going on with your server. I too run a VSTR map rotation, and I have all 6 gametypes and I have never had that problem. I know on my server The Hunt can be played as TDM, FFA, or OBJ. But if it gives you trouble while your in there, just reset the gametype with RCON and restart the round. Do that untill we can find out why this is happening on your server. I will check around to see if someone else has had this problem.

Yeah, it's weird. Last night for example, I joined my server while it was running Crossroads, and it was loaded for TDM (no bomb under bridge, and the back gate with the truck under the overpass was closed). Other times it loads in TDM mode (supposedly), but the bridge can be blown and there is access to the back truck area (which is really in objective mode).

Be sure your gametype command is before the map command in the vstr script. It sounds like a timing issue where the game map started before the gametype cvar got set. I say this only because it seems to be sporadic.
