I am trying to make a no smoke grenade mod for use in matches (makes our server lag when too many people use them at once). I got some help on the files I needed to edit (I'm past all the Pakscape and Scripteditor stuff). What I need to know is what to do once the edits are done. I exported the pak1.pk3 file and did the edits outside of the MoH folders (don't want to overwrite any game files).
Now that the edits to the weapon loadouts are done, what do I do? I could save the entire pk1.pk3 file as something else like (zzzzzz-usernosmokenadesmod) or something like that and it would probably work. However, that is a huge file. Can I just save the base text for the smoke grenades and the TIK files for the weapons that I edited the loadouts for and have that run?
I've noticed most mods have something called dm.precache and a file structure inside the pk3. Can someone give me a quick and dirty plan on how to pull the mod together? Something simple like open Pakscape, create a file and call it blah, inside make another file and call it blah, blah....you get the picture. This would be a great help. Thanks.
