View Full Version : Keep getting booted from my server!

I just recently began running a server via a batch file. When I go into the maps, I seem to be able to stay on the level with no problem until I switch teams. It seems like when I switch teams, within 10 seconds, I either get the "server disconnected" message, or I just get booted back to the main MOHAA Spearhead screen. I am running Serverwatch and have checked the settings, but don't see any reason why I'd be kicked.
Any ideas?

Maybe max ping is set to low in config?
Since when you connect, a ping can get really high...
Maybe your banned?......
i'm thinking its something inside your config or your banned :o

Open the console, there you should be able to see the error msg.

w3rd... you may also want to check your log data ;-)

I've been having a similar problem. I have a redhat linux box running a dedicated spearhead server 2.15 beta. Seems to run fine, people can join and play and whatnot. but when I play I can only stay in the game for a few minutes before I get booted. Sometimes it goes back to the spearhead multiplayer screen and sometimes Spearhead quits altogether. This doesn't happen to me when I play on others' servers. Could it be a port conflict issue? My min ping was set to 0... I wonder if i actually pinged in at 0? :x(

The port conflict could only cause that if you are runnign both the client and the server on the same machine. I also think the game automatically looks for a different port if the default is already in use, so it might not do that even if they were on the same box (never tried that set up).

thanks for the ideas - it's a weird one. as it stands, the one work around I've found is to not use the "browse internet servers" functionality, but instead use the browse local area network games instead - when I jumped in that way I had no problems. don't know why I didn't think to try it already. and, in truth, I discovered it as all great discoveries are made - by accident. meant to hit the browse internet servers button and missed. derrrr. but then I was like, "hey, this could work." and it did.
anyone else having this issue should try just jumping on the lan game instead of the internet game. makes more sense anyway.
