I have noticed a couple of bad language players running around my server called things
like ".:bad guy:.". If I kick them they often come back called ".:bad guy:.:" instead and suddenly kick and dumpuser no longer works.

This forces me to kick them using clientkick which we all know is impossible since rcon is broken. Anyone else seen this ?

What do you mean clientkick is broken? I use it all the time. Another possibility would be to use something like autokick just highlight them and click kick.. or you can add thier IP to the ban list.

Most likely the "bad" players changed their nicks to include hidden chars or even spaces at the end of the name. That's why kick and dumpuser failed, you didn't have the complete name. As for clientkick, what problem are you having? I haven't had any problems with clientkick on any of our MC Gamers servers; 99% of the time, that's what I use for kicking.

I didn't say clientkick was broken, it works fine. But RCON is broken when there are more than 15 players on the server meaning I can't get their client# to apply clientkick on. Without leaving the game and using the server console of course.

I tested all kinds of variants on their name including trailing spaces, so I guess it was some kind of hidden character then.

I found that putting the name in " " works. I had some freaks on yesterday with " Solder" as their name. I couldn't kick them until I put int he " "s.
