View Full Version : LINUX Dedicated Server?
Does anyone have any idea when the LINUX dedicated server will be ready? I have already requested that my provider upgrade our server, but they say the LINUX installer is not yet ready. I have seen other providers already running Breakthrough servers and would assume most would use LINUX for it's stability.

There is no specific timeframe on the BT linux dedicated version. Just keep your fingers crossed. I know how frustrating this is as me and many others specifically run linux servers. You'd think the linux version would be a no brainer to have available ASAP.

The guys over at http://www.icculus.org have previously released the linux dedicated servers for both Mohaa and Spearhead 2.15.
I reckon they are already working on Breakthrough although they havent posted anything and I have emailed them today asking how they are currently progressing. Will post up if I hear anything.
We are also in the undesirable position of having to wait for the linux patch before we can host a breakthrough server :(.
Fingers crossed it will happen soon as the spearhead linux server patch was released 3 weeks after the actual game was released.

received some news from the nice folks at icculus. they are still waiting for the source code to be released from EA.
Given the fact that it took about 2-3 weeks to release the spearhead linux from the date that icculus recieved the source code, we arent really that far away from it.
