Well excuse my passionate and somewhat blunt rant editorial on this topic I do NOT necessarily speak on behalf of my own MSC community.. and thanks to Rude for giving us the opportunity to do just that, rant.. )

But honestly.. do people really "anticipate" this dung heap?
Are we all "glued" to our seat and stare at EA offspring like baby fawns frozen on the highway staring at the Mac Truck's headlights?

Common guys lets get real here.. spearhead was considered widely to be a flop.. now from the publishers we are handed some SINGLE PLAYER MAP PACK ..and supposed to be impressed? please..

If spearhead were this Kick ARSE expansion that had almost NO problems or issues that we all loved then yea I could see shelling out a 15bucks or so for a map pack.. I take exception here to the fact this forums and this community does NOT revolve around single player maps!!! Hello!!!! has this concept not reached EA?

Rudedog,.. your a great man and seriously, a perfect example of why MOH is great.. because of hard working admins like you that make it a community.. How can you not help but feel a little "pimped" that EA comes on like some greasy used car salesmen talking to lemmings that buy stuff out of sheer privilege and awe to be playing whatever bone EA chooses to throw them.... this attitude that we exist as an entity unto EA's spewing .. and not the other way around.. it’s pathetic..

I myself deal with sales in engineering products (granted a different customer base) but I shake my head in disbelief when it comes to EA..
My whole take on this.. is we live seem to live in some kind of "bizarreoworld".. when should be the other way around.. EA should be thanking YOU Rude and the community and kissing our butt. for interest in their products and listening to us and what our interest are . and how can we help you.. yes we have listened and we have a product weve worked hard on to support the online community...

Instead we see these cheesy caricatures greasy salesman telling us how as a community we should get excited about some single player map ad ons.. Does anyone not see something wrong with this picture?? I have and live in the real world and will speak with my wallet..

and will speak with my wallet..

I try to keep an open mind with everything I do .But after playing the CoD demo, released early by activision. All I can say is EA better get ready for a fight and right now CoD is the favorite.

Even now, CoD is by far better then anything Spearhead has shown in both MP and SP and we have not even played the multiplayer version yet

Like a good friend of mine said, competition is good, for us the people who buy this stuff.

Also, some of you may have noticed. I have purchased CoDadmin.com. Hoping to bring to the CoD community what I and the rest of the MOH community has been able to do with MOH. I am in the process of purchasing a dedicated server to run both sites and host a ton of files. Just so you know, I'm not giving up on MOH - just yet.

More info soon.....

Way to go RD! If the MP side of CoD is anything like the SP, then definitely it will convert many MoH:AA fans (it's got me). The SP is awesome, although the demo map seemed too linear. I do love all the weapons, although sound-wise they'll need upgrading ;). Also seems like even in verteran mod, the axis AI aren't such hot shots ... probably needs to be made harder. The allies AI are amazing ... they are very helpful, although their animations are too repetetive.

The demo left a lot of things out from a play perspective, i.e. will there be vehicles, but overall it already does look/feel better than any of the MoH. It would have been nice to get a taste of MP at this point ... heck, they're probably planning another demo :D .

Well done Rudedog!

you do and have done a fantastic job on MoHAA, Spearhead, and no doubt on Breakthrough also when it comes out, and deserve all the praise you get! ;)

I'll agree with Hammer's comments that the demo was very easy, even on the hardest difficulty setting, although i suspect Infinity Ward are aware of this. I'm sure i read somewhere that it was recommended to be played on the hardest setting, thus suggesting that they are aware of this fact. I'm sure with all the feedback they'll be getting anyway this will be one thing that is addressed.

It does, however, seem from this that BT is unlikely to make much of a mark once CoD is released. The two games are fairly similar in feel, and t'would appear obvious that attention has been positively gained as a result of the demo. There are mods out already for it! MP Demo please! :D

I see we are ranting in another area...hehehe.....well I have said what I needed to so far. The CoD demo is looking very sweet, I do pray they get it right with the MP.

I am very glad to see you grabbed the CODadmin.com addy. Now we will just have to wait and see how this all pans out. I would be surprised if EA actually held off on thier release of BT to correct all "issues." I think at this point its the only thing they can really do to keep thier game alive. Well that and the fact that alot of us are still hardcore fans of what they've given us so far....but what it really has come down to is what the community has created with the broken bits and pieces of a game which was apparently not ready for its release.

Seeing Hammer posting with his enthusiasim as well with all of you, reassures me that if done right CoD will carry over veteran scripters and over all modders.

I have purchased CoDadmin.com.

Ooooh, you sly dog! I was wondering if that was you!

Totally agree. EA is going to have to pull their sock up if they're gonna compete with Call of Duty. The SP demo was fantastic. The screenies for Breakthrough have me a bit underwhelmed, but like rude, I usually keep an open mind.

Why don't I post here more often? newbie
