What am I doing wrong?

Here is the line in my short cut:

It says it is exec'ing maps.cfg yet the maps are not in the order of the file and it never loads hurtgen. Obvioulsy I ahve something wrong but I don;t get it. Thanks for any help getting me going.

Are you the guy that I posted my maps.cfg file for because it looks very similar. BTW, you can remove the gametype immediately after brecourt. Here's the problem: you've created custom CVARs with your map rotations that CoD doesn't know how to handle. The last line in your maps.cfg file should be vstr tdm_maps. the vstr command causes CoD to execute a CVAR as if it was typed in. From a remote console, you can also do /rcon vstr tdm_brecourt and clear the current rotation and set it to brecourt only. To go back to your normal rotation, use /rcon vstr tdm_maps. This assumes that you've already set your rcon password locally. I had put the non-rotating maps in for matches and such.

Yes it was me and I thought I understood but ...uh no I didn't ;). OK so I am only missing the one line. I knew it was something stupid since the console shows it doesn't know what the current roation is. Adding that line now and re-execing. Will post back. Thanks for the help.

Where is brecourt? It is picking up the rotation but skipping the first map.

When you first start it up or redo the vstr tdm_maps, sv_mapRotationCurrent gets cleared. The map_rotate command causes the server to rotate to whatever map is in sv_mapRotationCurrent but since it is empty, it'll copy what's in sv_mapRotation then start the first map in the list. sv_mapRotationCurrent just shows you what maps are cued up to run next.

Ogre, thanks for the help. I didn't understand why it didn't start with brecounrt but I do now. All the maps are there and it goes through them all now as it should.
