Hello, this evening i set up a dedicated server, using MOA told it to use gamespy.

was only ment to be me and a mate playing! he connected by using my ip as he could not find me anywhere in game spy.

The next minute i new i had loads of people starting to join in on the game, this happen to when it wasnt a dedicated server and was told not to show in gamespy.

How did the other people find my server, i try asking them but one just said on the internet.

also IP 66.151.180.3 keeps on requesting status of the server, any one now what it is?? http://66.151.180.3 if has a website with it

Cheers

Probably the gamespy variable wasn´t set properly. Try setting an Rcon password and within the game, open your console and write the following:

(After connecting and playing in map)

rconpassword password (where password is the actual password u have set on server as rcon password)

rcon sv_gamespy

(U will be presented with the actual value of the variable. 0 off and 1 on. If "latched 0" appears do the following:)

rcon restart

(the game will be restarted, and hopefully so the variable. If the situation keeps the same close the server, edit your server.cfg file and where your sv_gamespy variable is defined, change it to "seta sv_gamespy 0". Run server again and restart the above procedures.)

Keep me posted, so I can help u in case of more problems.

You should note that even if you set GameSoy as 1, you will not be able to find your own server in gamespy on your internet ip, if at all...

if its visible, it will be on your LAN address, and will be located in a section called lan, if such exist in gamespy... but in mohaa it does...

besides... even when gamespy is set to 0, i believe it still shows up in mohaa itself, and maybe also in other gamebrowsers like ASE...

although this has to be comfirmed someday..
