non dedicated server?

how do i run a server without it being dedicated so i can play on it as well. i only have one machine but i want to run a small server for a few freinds - thankyou

If you're starting the server from the game menus choose Dedicated "No". If you're starting from a command line make sure it includes +set dedicated 0.
