Need some help with the cfg...

Instead of having a password and stuff...can i just do it so i put in the name of the person and it auto does it so that there admin? or do they have put in the password over and over again? and can i still use the cfg if im running non dedicated so i could play? and how would i set it up or active it?

also how do i setup the shortcut properties or the console thing for spearhead? is it the same for medal of honor? and for both versions for the properties how do i do it so its non dedicated so i can play and use these rcon commands?

well what you can do is create a bat file for all your members or to the ones who will have rcon control that way all they do is double click on the bat and it will auto load up the game and connect you to the server with password and everything

can u explain to me how to make those .bat files? and when setting up rcon, when the step where u have to do shortcut prop...is this the same thing for spear head too? and so say if i want to load up server i would click on this shortcut?

well yeah, Im talking about just a bat file for a player to connect to a server, now is this what you want or do you want a simpler way to start up your dedicated server..is this server running from your home?

when your server is not running in dedicated mode,, in console all you have to do is type in the commands without the word "rcon" and you can do your thing

in your mohaa,main folder you will notice that spearhead has included a few quick .bat files to execute.. for example you should have in there a file called objective.bat double clicking on this will start your spearhead server.exe and execute the objective.cfg file in your mainta,, now you can simple edit these by just right clicking on em and goto edit it should open up in like a notepad and you can change the target to execute another config file like your own or a server.cfg file

now for an individual like an admin or someone you want to have rcon etc.. to make it easier for them to connect to the server and not have to type in rcon password or the private password once they get in you would create a custom bat file and a config file. lets make your cfg file using any other existing cfg file open it up or open up notepad to start from scratch makes no difference now just copy and paste this in and the area in red is where you will put your passwords.

seta rconpassword yourrconpassword
seta sv_privatePassword yourpassword

now save this as anything you want for now lets say you saved it as admin.cfg,, place this admin.cfg in your mainta folder.

Now lets create the bat file, you can do the same open up an existing bat file or notepad and copy & paste this in -where it is red is what you need to fill in also you will notice admin.cfg in red -you will change the name of this to the same name as the config file you just created in this case since we created one called admin.cfg thats what you will put there.

moh_spearhead.exe set ui_console 1 +exec admin.cfg +set cl_playintro 0 +rconpassword yourrconpassword +password yourprivatepassword +rcon status +connect yourserverIP


ok so if you did all this in notepad or whatever just make sure to now save it as whatever you wanna call it lets just save it as the same name we have been using to make it easier you save it as admin.bat and save it to the mohaa/main directory now just create a shortcut from that admin.bat in your main to your desktop.

there you go you have a bat file now..if you have filled in the right information to your server in the red areas then once you click on the admin bat file it will take you straight into the server..werd

I may have complicated things if your like "what the hell is this guy talking about" then let me know and I will send you the bat files and walk you thru.

ok i think i got all of it, but i may messup so ill try this out first...but i dont have spearhead lol, getting it this friday so ill have this made, so plz check back incase i have any questions....

Hey Cleaner,

Why put the rcon password and the private password in the command line if you are calling them in admin.cfg? It seems that if you exec the admin.cfg, you shouldn't have to have them in the commandline. Am I totally confused about this?

lol this isnt workinng, when someone else is doing it, it says to them bad rcon password....and is the .bat file to setup the admin or to setup the server?

all it will do is auto launch your game and connect to your server with rcon password,,if it says bad rcon that means the rcon password you put in the bat is not the same as what is on your server.cfg

Mea Culpa! Mea Culpa! You are right! I tried it all three ways and guess what! you have to have both the batch and the admin.cfg before it works properly. My bad! I guess LOGIC has nothing to do with MOH!
