Hey, can somebody please help me. I run a server, i am the admin and i would like to have another admin in the server with me. i just dont no how to do it. can someone help me with this problem? :?:

So the question is, do you know how to use rcon? If so you need to have an rcon password, also make at least 2 pvt slots on your server and enable a password for it. This way who ever helps you can always get in. Rcon can be accessed remotely, hence "remote console." AA.com has a tutorial and list of rcon commands you can use.

Outside of that if you need to find an admin to help out, well its always a good thing to have one of your regulars you can trust well enough to be one of your admins. Always pick from your homefield first.

What i was asking is to put me (already a admin) and another person to be an admin with me. my question is how would i get him to be an admin like me?

Like I just said, create a pvt player slot for you and him in your config. Then give them the rcon password...thats it. In fact you don't even need to make a pvt slot to give him admin status. You just hand over the password and thats it.

i tried that. i typed into the console "set rconpassword x" the i told me friend to type "rconpassword x" and he did and he wasnt able to kick people or change the map or turn off gravity and such

Do you know if he was entering the commands correctly? Not trying to insult anyone, but there is nothing special required to have multiple admins.

Absolutely! The best way to do it is to create a custom.cfg and put your rcon password there like so:

set rconpassword "password"

Then it will log them in as administrator each time they connect and you don't have to type out the password in console.

open notepad (assuming you use windows) or any text editor

type

set rconpassword "your password"

click save

navigate to your /mainta folder

name the file custom.cfg

click save.

You're done!

All admins CAN use it, but it is not required. they can still use console and type rconpassword "your password."

No. Doesn't matter at all. When they connect, they are in the game.

1: if the password is in the custom.cfg file, then all they have to do is type rcon "command" Whatever they want to do. Such as if you want to kick someone it would be"

rcon clientkick #


2: if they DO NOT have the password in the custom.cfg file, then they have to type:

rconpassword "password"

BEFORE they can enter any other commands
