Ok, call me thick, but what exactly does this mean? What is delator scanning for when this option is enabled? (ie what sort of cheat would modified binaries allow?)

Thanks,

MrT

Modified binaries detect an executable maliciously edited to allow use of cheating cvars on a cheat protected server. There are various cheats that can be used this way (mostly the ones already detected by Delator).

so could this be something as simple as "noCD crack " ???
or is it definately a cheat ??
reason being as soon as i switched to newest version of delator 3.0 (beta ) almost everyone on the server who have been playing for months without problems from 2.1 was kicked for this very reason ??

make sure cheats = 0 is set in your server.cfg

It's an experimental setting anyway and is unstable

Yes Slayer, it will kick people with No CD cracks....well some. I had this discusion earlier. It seems there are some which can not be detected and others which do...so this option is turned off in the server I play on. Of course I could just start using my CD in the bay again and not worry about it. Oh well.

i opened up the pk3 files and deleted the line of the setu, which kicks people for having the no-cd crack....

i cant remeber which one, but if want to change the name of the files that end in .src, change it to .txt and you can read them in notepad, when u are finished editing them, change them back to .scr

i then repacked it with pakscape, and put it on the server, and ticked modified binaires, and it didnt kick anyone for no-cd cracks

Anyone know which line to edit, so that it won't kick noCD users?

I am assumming it is this line,it's about 3/4 of the way down the .scr.

local.d13 stufftext ("setu version hacked")

Either delete it or put // in front of it so it will not be read.
Also, once you open with pakscape, just drop the delator.scr into an open txt file, saves you the trouble of renaming it.

Bare in mind,YoChoyLaMuete himself (Delators creator) says in the read me that this is unreliable,it's why you have the option of turning it on or off.

the only thing i have known the "modified binaries" to be was dissolution skins (which are VERY popular... sadly)

If you go to your "Cheat Management" tab and put "Modified Binaries" on "warning" and then put the "Assume Hacked binaries after [10] failed scans"

What it seems to do is, for those that are detected, if you have a "no-cd crack" it will only kick you (warning), but if you really have modified binaries, it will ban you.

If you dont trust the ban then go to the output file that delator automatically creates after each person is banned.

This is what ours looks like if its really a cheat (dissolutions skins)

cg_3rd_person is part of dissolution skins and whether they have them enabled when they are playing or not, it will still detect it.

Hope this helps.
