View Full Version : How to setup Weapon detection

You just go into the Advanced setup.

In there you will find a page named weapon indification.

And you might want to start the debug window allso.
And there you will see the names of the wepon when people are shoting on others with them.
then you just add the weapon into the weapon indification page.

the name that comes up in the debug you must put in:
weapon regexp: mp44_mp

And the name of the weapon in:
weapon: MG or Mp44 MG
You can name the weapon what ever you like.


This is how you add the weapon yourself in a easy way.

Here you can download the weapon.dat file that are needed to get the all the weapons into the SW.


Well you download THIS FILE (http://home.online.no/~peevjen/download/Weapons.dat). And after that you just put it into the SW Serverwatch/Data dir and then you have the full weapon setup for SW

I D/L the Weapon.dat file, and it look OK. But in the User Playin/Weapon window it says: Unknown. And I can't get the Swear Word to work. Yes, I've read the offline AND online Guide. Still nothing. And the Spam Protection is not working either. And I've gone through the Debug/EventList/Event Filter Option also.

Hva funker i det hele tatt da ?

Er du sikker på at SW leser logfilen ?
For det høres ikke ut som det på hva du sier her.
For alle ting som di sier ikke funker her bruker jo logfilen for og funke.
Men kan seff hende at den funker.
Men det høres ikke sånn ut.

Ja det er riktig.
Og vist du trykker på file/debug/logfile...
da skal du se i den sorte ruten der at det kommer masse grønn text.
gjør det d da funker den.

Ikke no grønt her. Og hva funker?: Console Message Events og Ban Control vet jeg funker. Og er det det samme om SW leser Games_mp.log fila fra en CoD eller SW folder?

Vel Message event er egentlig ikke noe stort.
Det er bare at når SW får infor som stemmer overens med et event så lager den evente.
Men her er det helt klart da at du bare har rcon og ikke noe fra loggen.
ja du må hente logen fra main foldern.. den kan ikke hente den fra noe annet sted.
Fortell meg hvordan dette er.
Har dere egen server ?
eller leier dere server ?
Er det win server eller linux server ?

AH... fant ut feilen. Jeg hadde skrevet 'MyServer.log' som logfil i server-configen. Mens jeg ba den lete etter 'Games_mp.log'.
Men fortsatt ingen 'grønt' i File/Debug/Logfile vinduet.

Men fikk SwearWord til å 'funke' litt. Den kicker etter kun '1' ban-ord er sagt, og jeg har satt den til '3'.....??
WeaponID funker heller ikke.


Og dette er kun en test server, kjørt fra min egen maskin på WinXP.

Hmm i can´t get my "weapons detection" to work :x I got the Weapon file but still its "unknown"

Any progress here? I downloaded your weapons.dat file (from another forum post - link here is DEAD.)

shutdown SW, copied it over, restarted SW.

Lookin thru the advanced settings, I see that the file has the weapons, but, as above admins - i still get UNKOWN for weapon type.

Also - using your .dat files - kill zones dont work either?!?!?

Are you running a English version ?

Maybe they are localized. just an idea.

yeah, im running english.. Im not following your train of thought there.


BtW - my server crashed (bad drive). I rebuilt using Winxp pro . Everything works now execpt weapon detection and kill zone stuff. .

There are localized language pk3's associated with CoD. Enforcer was checking to be sure you weren't using a French version of the game for example.

nope.. english all th way..

Im really starting to get frustrated here.

My new rig uses direct file access (WOW what a speed diff in the responses!). BUT, even so, no matter WHAT weapons.dat file I put in the \serverwatch\data dir, the console (serverwatch) still shows weapon uknown (as well as team.).

Obviously, (TO ME) if sw cant tell what weapon, i wont see the killzone messages - (joe got spanked by tom (bashed)) stuff..

please advised!

push File / debug / logfile.

And see if you get the green text showing the log from inside the game.....

It almost seems like you dont get the logfile from the server.

This may be redundant, but check the obvious. Be certain that you have copied the new Weapons.dat into the Data directory of ServerWatch. Check to see that is has the .dat extension and that by some chance it is not .zip or .dat.txt. (right click on it and check the properties). But you say you can see it in the Advanced Setup...hmmmm.

In the weapons setup area, does it say 'yes' for primary weapon?
When SW is running, does the weapon name show up in the User List? Or is it unknown? (There are a few minor typos in the weapons.dat file, but these should not affect every weapon.)

Stop ServerWatch. Try editing one of the weapons. (one with a typo would be a good place to start....the Thompson). Then Save and activate config. Then exit ServerWatch. Open ServerWatch and start it up.

Cobra - good to go. I open the debug window log, see entries like :
L;0;allies;ClanX-Lord_Beltic;0;allies;ClanX-Lord_Beltic;fraggrenade_mp;119;MOD_GRENADE_SPLASH; none

etc.. I noticed there was no entry in the FILE/ADVANCED SETUP/WEAPON SETUP menu for it so i added:

Weapon: Frag Grenade
Primary: YES (box is checked)
weapon regexp: graggrenade_mp

Clicked add, and its now in the list. However, I still dont see it properly reported in the SW console that i have a grenade, OR what team im on.

Floyd - I have closed SW, deleted the weapon.dat file from \serverwatch\data, and replaced it with one of Cobras that was posted somewhere on this forum. I verified it loaded by going to file/advanced setup/weapon identification. I all re-added the frag grenade (as abouve) and changed the spelling on the thompson.

At this time, there is nobody else on my server, so I was testing by jumping on my own grenade. Ill get some ppl on soon, and save the SWDebug window logs.

Thanks for tring to help me with this guys - its much appritiated.

Ok. I have the weapon detection stuff setup correctly now. It will show unkown in the console until somebody gets killed.

Now, I am curious how to create the message event of"

"John Doe shot Pete in the head!"??

I can get one thats like
"Pete shot John with the Springfield" by using the (?i)Spring for a filter in the message event, but how do i use the killzone infos?

You will not see the weapon in the userlist until you kill someone. If you pick up a weapon and start using a new one, that one will not show up until you kill someone with it. Make sense?

Look around in the forums or visit MKF's forums, there is some info on setting up head shots... I think Parrot has some examples.

Enforcer, ServerWatch does not seem to match the player to the correct team. I have not verified this, but when viewing the User List if the weapon indicates Allied, SW will show the team as Axis. And visa versa.
