help us poor 56k ers

ok hope you guys can help i admin a 56k only server and we get plagued with low pingers (if bt would only pull there finger out and let us all have adsl ) anyway does any of you guys know of a program that will kick low pingers from the server and leave us high pingers alone as i cant be there 24/7 too look after it

Autokick actually has a ping Range setting also with a min and a max.

well that didnt work lol i set it to a min of 120 and a max of 999 and it started to kick all the high pingers off lmao so unless i was setting it wrong and only thing with autokick ever time a have to dial up again it crashes not like the ci one it seems to be more stable for my dial up so does anyone else have any ideas ?

Yeah, it would kinda have to work exactly the opposite as it was originally intended..lol..intresting. I never thought of it that way. Hopefully Black Bart, Buzzlighyear, Yo Choy or someone else will be able to let us know if current tools/scrips can me made to do this. Good question.

as i said if our telcom company pull it finger out and gave us all a chance to get adsl then fine but we have 2 56k modem server and there must be 100 or so others that dont let us poor 56k guys in so why do they come on to our server's is it that they cant hack it out there with you adsl and they have to pick on us or what (im not taring all you guys with the same stick as a lot that do come on do go when they are informed )

According to Black Bart (The author of Counter Intelligance) the new CI which will be released very soon has this feature built in. Help is just around the corner.

I am suprised that the Autokick min/max range doesnt work, of course I dont know of anyone that has ever used it.
You could also try setting min and max ping settings in your server cfg.

// Minimum Ping to allow clients to join with. 0 means anyone
set sv_minping 0

// Maximum Ping to allow clients to join with. 0 means anyone
set sv_maxping 0

Change the minping setting just high enough so that you and your friends can get in.

we have that set already but they still manage to come on :D as i said most of them leave but we get a few that dont and just spawn kill and bad stuff like that, not as if they have a advantage on us all ready that they have to do that as well

The new CI that has this feature is being tested now. This feature does appear to work. So just hang tight.

Hope I'm not spamming this thread, but a big thank you has to go to all the developers here who give up their time to help out us admins - you guys rock.

With all the software I have purchased and used, the MOHAA community has given far better support for free than any commercial software, period. In return, I do my very best to help other MOHAA players and server operators. Keep up the good work fellas.

A 56k server is a champion idea - good luck getting it going :)
