Let's start from the begining. I've got an idea how to make a server been reading and reading about cfg but I want my server exe to look at the right cfg how in the hell do I do that. Please talk to me like I'm stupid I can't seem to figure it out any other way!

add this: +exec servername.cfg

to the end of your shortcut link.

i find it helps to stick then in the configs dir under :

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\configs for AA

and

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\mainta\configs for SH

change drive letter if necessary of course !!

then put this as the shortcut properties

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA_server.exe" +set dedicated 1 +set ui_console 1 +exec configs/server.cfg
