Im stumped. I found the source of the problem to be within my network setup.

Heres the situation. I had set up a small network behind my Netgear DSL Router Gateway. I can setup a dedicated server just fine for LAN play. It even shows up under the ASE as a working server. But outsiders cannot connect through the gateway.

I went into my port forwarding settings and set up an additional port.

heres the info:
start port 12203 end port 12203 Server IP Address 192.168.0.3

It does the same still. So I checked out my Internet IP...its differant. What Ive been using was my LAN IP. And thats by default through the ingame server setup.

Ive tried using a .CFG file, but MoH:AA just doesnt want to find it. I saved it as a text only file in both my MOHAA root and MOHAA/MAIN directories. I verified the +exec command to ref my .cfg file as well. Still wont open it.

With DSL connection using PPPoE, Im given both of these IP addresses. Which one do I use?

When I run my server, I shut my firewall down. Any Ideas? :?:

First of all, dont mess with the assigned IP and port given by Mohaa when starting your server. Its assigned an internal IP because that is where your server resides. Your router/firewall will translate all IPs bound for the public internet as long as you are port forwarding correctly.
Dont turn off your firewall, just configure the port forwarding. Here are the ports that you need to set:

MOHAA, SH multiplayer:
Allow TCP Port 12203-12218
Allow UDP Port: 12300
Allow UDP Port: 12203-12218

GameSpy ports (ingame browser too)
· 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
· 28900 (Master Server List Request TCP)
· 29900 (GP Connection Manager TCP)
· 29901 (GP Search Manager TCP)
· 13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
· 6515 (Dplay UDP)
· 6500 (Query Port TCP)

Now when you play on your game, you will have to use the lan to play, everyone else will be able to use your public IP or GSpy/ASE.

The problem was tryin to differentiate between the UDP and TCP ports in the router itself when i was using port forwarding. Apparently, when setting up a service, you dont need to diferentiate between the two...i think. So What i did, was took the UDP and TCP ports and merged them into one long list and forwarded the ports from there.

Well, it works, and the server is up and running. Now to work with the MoH:AA server config files...

Thanks for the help.
