this probably sounds stupid, but would it be possible to create a mod to allow users to download custom maps from the server???

I am not an expert in this (or in anything for that matter) but from what I have read on this and other forums, it looks like this feature does not function. There are some that also believe this would not be a benefit as the server would be sending maps while also trying to run the game. They believe it would create problems. I have seen it work on other games so not sure if that is true or not.
