server watch question

hey all -

i just set up serverwatch on my mohaa server, and i think i setup the client information correctly on the server side (i say this because its running with no apparent problems so far :D )

however, when i set up the client, using the same user name and password and try to connect, i continually get a connection refused message.

Client Setup:
the setup tab looks like this:

MFK Server Watch Server:
Server: 216.227.90.165
Port: 23203
Username: feanor
Password: xxxxxxxx

the client access tab looks like this:

username: feanor
password: xxxxxxx
password (again): xxxxxxxx
ip filter: //- i left this blank (on the client and the server)

after hitting add, nothing happens and no user shows up in the userlist.

i have saved the config and restarted the server watch, and it runs and doesn't bomb like i've read happens to some other admins, but i can't seem to connect the client.

in case it matters, i'm not using ssh, but direct access.

if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

i'm running the server watch program on a w2k server and it runs with no problems. 8)

server watch client is running on a w2kpro workstation, and that's where i'm hung up. :?

Well if you look at the down right side of the serverWatch. there it says if something is wrong.
Do you use serverwatch client on a network or over the internett.
If you have the same ip out as the server.
then you must use your intern Ip address direct over the hub/swith or router.

And you have to set up a acont fore the client on the server.

thanks cobra - i'll give that a shot when i get the server up again. switching providers so the game server is down right now and i have no 'net connection either. ugh! 5 days without a connection, and i'm losing my mind!!!!! :(

That message 100% mean that it was not possible to open an tcp/ip connection to the ServerWatch
1. Check you’re Firewall Settings
2. Check the Port
3. Check the IP you set on the ServerWatch Client

Ok some "bad" news there is no ipfilter on the Client :D

Ok how to Setup the Client:

1. Choose a name for the Server (name it like you want it)
2. Setup the IP of the Computer ServerWatch is running at
3. Setup the Port on what ServerWatch is running on that (remote) Server (default 23203)
4. Setup Username/Pass
5. Press Add to Add the Server to the known Servers List (it will not connect now)


If you want to connect press connect or choose the Server you just inserted in the change Server menu.
ServerWatch Client should tell you on the bottom right that it is connected.
Now you can access all features you allowed to with the selected Username/Password.



If you want to auto refresh the list just Start Auto refresh with the File Menu or Setup that it starts on ServerWatch Client Startup.
You also can Setup an Server you want to connect to on Start-up. Enable the Option and enter the Name you have chosen for the List..

If you type something in the client chat you will see it change to your name i gues.

Or you need to pish the file button and start the autorefresh
