View Full Version : v2.11 Dedicated Server doesn't work

I installed the new v2.11 patch for MOHAAS (my dedicated server was running fine in v2.00) The dedicated server loads up fine, but when me or others try to connect to it, the server shuts down with the following error message.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm about to pull my freakin hair out. 8O

I also get a few other lines of errors above on load up that I didn't get before.

I just went into DK666's server where I admin....and the server is empty....and when I finally succesfully logged on I was able to get rcon to work. But when I made a map change I did get the long list of data you showed. I didn't get kicked though.

The other problem is that DK666's server isn't showing up in the SH games Server list. I tried with and with out filters. I used the ASE, which I have the game saved to a favorite. But the ASE isn't showing it either. I account this to the fact that RD had to make the filter for us, so the new version doesn't have a filter yet....RD anytime soon? But what I don't understand is why its not showing up in the EA Game Server list. I mean its the in game server list. Its supposed to show up there...oh well now we will have to wait another month for a patch to fix thier foul up.

well your server is currently down right now but I do have it show up in my 2.11 section of my filters in ASE...werd

 The same thing happens to me and has happened since v2.0. I just installed the patch in hope that it would fix the problem. The Spearhead Demo ran fine for me as a dedicated server. I'm really hopeing that someone a lot smarter than me can comeup with the answer. In my case I get the same message when I try to host a dedicated server or a playable server. After the message appears the application freezes and an OS Error message pops up. I do't recall the exact message so I'll stop back and post when find it.
I'm running WIN 98 DX8.2.

Thanks in advance for any help you all might give me.

I just tried hosting a dedserver v2.11 here on my LAN, loading dm/mohdm2.

I got all that skeletor crap too, but didn't get the ERROR: global/mike_Torso.st: line.

Anyways, I was able to join the game over LAN... I don't know what I'm doing differently than you folks.. :(

Well the server can be joined if you have the IP. According to my head admin the server was showing up fine tonight. But he didn't say what he did. So I will have to talk to him about it tomorrow.

Wraith--I would try contacting EA tech support and see if they have an answer. They are pretty good about getting back to you in 24hrs.

Sitting Duck--That sounds like a port forwarding problem. ASE reqires a couple of additional ports, also Spearhead added some ports that werent required for MohAA.

Just FYI, don't know if this will help anyone else, but I finaly got mine to work.
I installed the patch on the server, then, since my computer was working fine with the patch, I ftp'd all the primary exe files and dll files from my computer to the server. It now works just fine with the 2.11 patch.
As far as EA support, they had no suggestions, they kept saying the server must have had a mod on it(it didn't, it was a clean install).

Thanx fellas, but I too have a fresh install. I was able to fix it though. Well if you could call it that. Basically i'm going back to v2.00 till EA pulls their heads out of their A**es and makes a revised patch. Thanx agin for all your Tips and Info. Was nice to see that I wasn't the only one having that problem.
