View Full Version : Autokick program does not work on Spearhead?

Has anybody solved the problem that Autokick times out after a while when controlling a server?

I have had no probs with my server running tow maps and Autokick. I did have some probs when running dm maps and reported back here when spearhead came out that Autokick didnt work. Later I found that it was a glitch with the dm maps and Autokick was running fine.

I use Autokick and have no problems with it at all. Sometimes it says it has timed out but then will work fine once someone jumps in the game. Its as if it sleeps or appears to sleep till there is activity in the server. Even though the screen says error timeing out my motd and kicks that I have set still are running and I dont have them set in my server.cfg.

I notice now that our server is up (*CHAOS* clan European server) and people join, the error messages disappear.

It's truly a wonderful program, Autokick.

yep, love it..if i only could get it to ban tk's. anything special i have to do in the cfg to get it to ban?

Hello Electric.

Well, you set this up in the .cfg file.

Do I understand you correctly that you want first time TK to be kicked?

Go to your name.cfg file for your server.

// Team Damage
// Toggles friendly fire
set g_teamdamage 1

Should be set to 1 for FF.

Then look for these:

// Team Kill Warning
// Amount of team kills before the player is warned
set g_teamkillwarn 5

// Team Kill Kick
// Amount of team kills before the player is kicked off the server.
set g_teamkillkick 6

You can off course put the last one to 1, which kicks a player off your server immediately.

Is this what you mean?

Sorry for not being more clear.
What i meant was Crowbars autokick program. It doesnt BAN players for TK's :)
So i wondered if maybe the CFG setting was screwing things up for the auokick or removing people from the server before autokick could do it :)

How many TK's before autokick bans ?

Well, I know what you mean. Last night I was sort of for a short time looking at the 'tolerance' screen. It says there about TK banning, I think u can choose there how many kills it should tolerate...or?

It's my understanding that currently CrowKing's Autokick does not have the ability to kick for TKing. He's working on it though.

Autokick doesn't kick/ban for TKing because in MOHAA there is no way for the server to tell you this has happened.

This is still the case for MOHSP, but is said to be fixed in the first patch.

I would suppose CrowKing could update Autokick then.

Spearhead has the ability to tk kick just not ban.

Mohaa has no ability at all.

EA made a rather nice improvement;)

MOH:AA may not have a built-in feature for handling TK'ers, but I have been able to develop a tool For Linux MOH:AA servers that offers a robust set of options for doing just that for TDM games. Rudedog posted a news piece about it on the main page of his site, but you can also get that and more information from my site here:

My system is capable of kicking, banning, and a combination of both where the penalty is upped from kicking to banning after a player is kicked a specified number of times. I also have a built-in !forgive command that allows victims to forgive their last TK'er as well as the ability to grant amnesty to players who have accumulated TK violations if they can behave themselves for a specified number of maps. All of these options are completely configurable and can be enabled/disabled as the administrator sees fit. Once Spearhead comes out for Linux, I plan on extending this capability to it as well. :)

ah ok, thanks, i'll just stick to the SH improvement of kick and ban manually then untill crowbar fixes it :)

autokick is a wonderful piece of work i must say :D

1 question more for a newbie admin.
When i kick or ban with autokick where do i set reason?
i always get "no reason specified" and i cant find anything about that in the DOC file.
