hey I dont know if its just me but it seems that most of the spearhead servers including mine gets some serious spikes and lag thru out some of the maps,theres a few maps that I just took out of rotation due to the fact the "lag" would just get insane. Wll compared to when i was running alliedassault server which ran nice spearhead just seems to get serious choppy play at times sometimes when the server has a few players and other times when theres more like 18+ players anyone know if spearhed for some reason uses up more cpu load and memory or something? I dont think its my hosting for the server or anyones elses for that matter, Is spearhead just jacked up? Dont get me wrong I like it,its just some wierd #@%$ going on running a dedicated server.

yeah I also have this problem!
man i run Mohaa Server with nice ping!
but Moh:sh, some maps I run really good ping! like
Stadt! but map like holland really sucks!
it lags, and pings out! this map really need a patch,
coz it requires more hardware power, then it max out the ping!
really looking forward for the next patch!!
so i can run Spearhead server!

I noticed on most maps.. we will get lag spikes about every minute.. this could be our host but we did not have this problem before spearhead..

Our AoWC hosted SH server has some lag issues as well. They have told me there is an increased CPU load which is causing it. Currently we have an 18 person server, and I'm going to knock it down to 16 to see if that helps. I doubt it will, however. Last night I was on it with only 8 other people and it was lagging up a storm. Before SH, i pinged in the 40s to my server, now it jumps from the 70s to the 140s, with hellacious spikes. Worst part is, due to the CPU load, AoWC will be charging more for hosting SH servers. Now i'm sad. *sigh* :(

I also use Art of war...
And getting these awfull spikes.. hmmm wonder if they put these spikes in on pupose to extort us for more money saying its due to "cpu load of spearhead"...
Im kidding of course.. but 10$ a slot is just to much for my blood..

Yep. Im toying with getting rid of the smoke nades on my server. 8 axis and 8 allies throwing smoke into a choke point........ LAGgggggggggg. My FPS drops to 2 or 3. I have my Spearhead server running on a 1.8gz with 1gb ram and windows 2000 pro. And I still get lag.........
Still waiting for EA to give us agood patch.

Odd,, I have a geforec ti 4600
and frame rate does not change at all no matter how many smoke grenades there are visible.. I know 4600 is a great card but still would epxect some frame hits.... I thought the way Spearhead renders the smoke, there is no frame rate hit..

werd..yeah naturally smoke will kill some fps,especially with players who dont have a geforce 638 or radeon 45,300 or whatever the hell theses cards are up to nowa days.rofl, I run my own realism mod in our spearhead server and Ive limited the smoke nades to (2) per player regardless of what weapon you use besides I think thats substantial amount 3 nades and 2 smoke nades.

I discovered something tonight that, while maybe not helpful, makes things a little less laggy (though its baby/bathwater solution). Apologies if this is redundant info.
On our AoWC hosted server, the lag descreased noticeably (though not entirely) when we're running TDM maps. While playing, i got sick of the lag on Ardennes, so I switched it to TDM, and it got noticeably better. Still ran into spikes, though not as often. RB worked well too. I wonder if its the maps, or some scripting of the OBJs in ToW....Hope that helps (a bit).
