View Full Version : KAR98 Grenade Launcher? Anyone working on a mod?

Was wondering if anybody has tried to make a mod for it in the full version. In theory all the files should be in the demo version....I have pulled out all i can find and tried to get it to work but no go......I haven't been able to find the info to list it in the weapons list yet....or maybe it's much more complicated that what I am describing.

If anybody is working on it maybe you could post your results or succes!

I really want to use it in the full version....too bad they left it out :(

BazookaJoe is currently working on porting it back to the retail ver. of SH. Hopefully he'll have this done soon. The only issue we can see as of right now is that if a client doesn't have this weapon mod installed as well, they won't hear the sounds of the weapon. I'll have Joe post a thread here next time I talk to him unless he makes it here first.... stik0r

renaming all the files concerned works same with Malta map.

Are you saying that the mods already be done and that it is both client and server side based?

If thats so then post a link so we can download it and put it on our server....

Please tell all parties involved that they shouldn't attempt to port the kar98 gren to the retail version of the game. All weapons require code in the .exe to function, and therefore this port is not possible. The Kar98 gren will be added to MOHAA:S retail in the first patch.

As he said, this weapon cannot be ported over. There's too many files that are linked in the other maps for it to be able to be ported correctly. It would basically involve every map's precache file to be altered, making the .PK3 for the grenade launcher almost the size of the demo (about 100Megs!) So, I'd rather wait for EA to patch this, since they have the base codes, heh

It can be done but waiting for the patch is easier.
We not hosting it as it will cause too much confusion when its in proper.

Renaming all the files concerned will work buts it time consuming and tedious.
Same with Malta someone on AA.com has posted a link to it better off not getting it as it may be in the patch and again cause problems with Sv Pure (if it works)
